I'm supposed to be finishing off a paper, but here I am  Good Lord, the sun hasn't even risen yet. Oh and I'd like to take back nappturality and replace it with naturallycurly.com

Hey! I got addressed over there. Look Miss LookieLou, I am NOT relaxed anymore. I'm 10 and a half months into transition. I got natural-street cred! I still like my silky, swangy straightened 3/5ths NATURAL hair.

Boyeee. :lachen::lachen:

I don't like my hair straight as much either. For some reason, I keep trying to force myself to, which has made me question why I think I'm suppose to like it.

why-so-serious-2.jpg

Y'all are a trip sometimes.. it's like nothing can be said without being taken out of context LAWD

ETA: And why do we have to state "in my opinion" before we write something... should we not
assume that if it came from the posters mouth (or keyboard) that it is their opinion? *steups*

I wasn't offended. I was just participating in the thread. Now that I know that the point of this thread was to troll, I'm KIND of offended. But not really.

What a silly argument, why is it such a big deal that she posted her same post in two threads?? Is there some supposed loyalty to only post about hair on one site at a time? I don't blame her for feeling offended. She posted her opionon about her experience with her hair and she was bashed for it. Even though her last statement didn't say natural hair was easier for her, it seemed easy to understand that it was implied since her entire post was about her. And even if she did feel that way, she's entitled to her opinon. One that I wouldn't agree with but so be it.

This type of stuff is what turns me off to this site - the cattiness.

Darn it OP. I was just about to come here and agree with you

In any case, I find natural hair to be much easier. Especially on my scalp and skin.

I think the issue is that someone posted that she should post it here because it would cause controversy....

***typing from my phone***People can post whatever they choose...we all have opinions & I genuinely enjoy *hearing* those of others. What I don't enjoy IMO is the air of superiority that sometimes gets thrown around. Again this is my opinion & my perception. Ok you luuurrve being natural? That's great! Go bake yourself a cake. I love being natural too. But I wouldn't look down my nose at those who don't. And I wouldn't post on on another hair board in which I know members from here also visit to basically talk ish about relaxed ladies or naturals that straighten. To me the OP statements seem to lack credibility when you go to that other site & read the posts. I think she meant exactly what she said in her OP and esp that last sentence. Again this is all IMO!

Wow. So this whole thread was a set up. Nice one OP. :ohwell:

A setup? really? I really don't think the OP meant anything by this. I post the same topic in both forums all the time. I really don't think she meant anything by it... things get taken outta of context so easily...

I think they're saying it's a setup because the other board told her to post it here because they bet we would "eat her alive." They probably wanted her to do it because this isn't a naturals only board, therefore us relaxed folk could come in and have something to say.

I don't dare step foot in nappturality.com. That's like steppin on a f'n mine field :ohwell: ESPECIALLY if you go in there talking about chemical treatments...

Yea but i seriously think it was all in good fun. This "battle of the hair boards" things is crazy to me. I guess cuz i just don't take stuff like this serious...

Well yea, but they also let you know upfront:

We don't like relaxers. And we don't sugarcoat that fact.

So if anyone goes on there and still decides to talk about a perm, they might as well fire their own shots at themselves.

I don't think it's a "battle of the boards" I think it's more of "let's start a controversy" type thing.

If it wasn’t such a hassle uploading pics with my f drive I’d upload my pics of my first straightening pics I did over the weekend. I didn’t even finish my whole head b/c of how much “effort” it took to blow dry and flat iron and stressing if my kinks would come back.

I agree w/the OP, don’t believe the hype. Keep your curls. I have been natural with 2 BC’s in b/w the last 18 months and this was the first time I straightened my hair during that time period. I don’t plan on straightening again for the rest of the year!!!! Give me kinks and curls anyday!!! Its so much easier to maintain. Just moisturize, seal and keep it moving~
