i agree ms.Feliz, but maybe she just had to vent, *but still, i wouldnt have said that sh.. tho. saying that in this forum is like a white man saying "nappy headed ho*" cuz peoples will come after you.
Wow I had no idea that people can be so sensitive over the relaxed/natural thing. As a person that has been on both sides (natural for most of my life tho), I'm going to have to agree that natural hair is easier for me as well. But then again, I didn't have LHCF back then so maybe it would have been easier with the virtually unlimited amounts of info on here. I guess OP might have gotten the tone on the site that relaxed hair is easier. *shrugs* I'm just still in shock at how easily people can get offended.
After spending the last 9 months heat free, I decided to straighten for many reasons. 1. That 1 yr anniversary in june doesn't work well for straight hair. 2. I thought it would be nice to have a professional cut my hair rather than me (needless to say I didn't get a trim).
Anyways, while most people enjoy their hair, swinging it and playing with it. I actually hated it. I was deeply disturbed with how much attention I had to give it. Constantly and currently keeping it up. Granted it survived this weekend's Nor'easter but I am in no means in a rush to straighten again. I felt like this was too much work.
Sorry relaxed & straight haired people, natural hair is EASIER.
so am I! i thought the op was just ranting about HER natural hair being easier to manage. let me go back and re-read the op.Wow I had no idea that people can be so sensitive over the relaxed/natural thing. If you had just left out that last sentence in bold I would have been with you 100%. It's just so annoying when anyone makes statements like that because it comes off as condescending and always seems to instigate negativity.

Yes, she was talking about HER hair in the beginning. THEN she made a generalization. If she said that it was easy for her to manage her natural hair, then I wouldn't care, I'll go fly a kite. That obviously wasn't the case.
Yeah I guess I wasn't clear in that last sentence. Maybe I should have said it's easier for ME. But I didn't think people would be offended about me speaking about my own experience. I thought we were beyond than that (I'm not referencing you directly Ms. Feliz)

I think maybe that sentence was taken out of context. So let me rephrase. I personally can no longer deal with MY hair straight. I find it to be too much work for me. I see on this forum as well as others women say they believe straight hair is easier. That is your opinion and could very well be easier for you. Great. But for me it isn't. I think should have labeled the thread "I don't believe the hype." - so please don't be offended.
Yes this was me venting about my recent experience. Also I think part of the reason I'm so anti-straight hair for myself is that I just cut off 10 inches of natural hair from heat damage. While I do thank the ladies from this site as well as other for the breadth of knowledge, that was MY experience. I'm so not shoving my ideals down anyone's throat, because I just flat-ironed someone else's hair.
Additionally, I don't see how pictures have anything to do with my experience with straight hair. If I had said my hair grew 10 inches in 10 months yes I need pictures, but this had nothing to do with the appearance of my hair in that sense.
P.S. I'm not a member of nappturally, so I can't relate. By no means am I hair nazi, you do what you do with your own hair

The board dynamics have changed so much. Sometimes it's like watching a car wreck in slow motion. LHCF is not the same place.I identified with your inability to tolerate having straight hair after a stretched period of curly hair because of the resulting consequences. I remember when i was transitioning before my big chop i tried straightening my hair a few times and it wouldn't last more than a day before it started puffing up and frizzing all over the place, and if it was hot outside or humid ahahaha, I won't last more than an hr. Anyway, I think it was your last generalized statement that threw some ppl off, I don't think anyone took offense to it... that's a bit far fetched. At least I didn't.
Both permed and natural hair have their pros and cons, I don't think LHCF was meant to single out one hair style as being the better of the two. Pft I came here to gain some more tips on how to grow even longer and continually healthy hair, I definitely didn't expect coming across 'hair supremacy' debates.....and I certainly don't remember seeing any of these debates a couple of years ago while lurking ;/ ....
ugh i'm bowing out, I wanna perfect my henna concoction, you guys have fun debating between brainds, relaxed, natural and purple hair .ahahaha
