Lol..... She is amazingly young. She's only like 31 or 32 but im 22. Yea... i know but she has an old soul. My dad will be 50 this year. He's not old at all but u get what im sayn....Wait, she's your step-mom? She looks amazingly young - and yes her hair is gorgeous!
Lil sis is a cutie pie!
Hey! We have the same name... lolIt's nice and fluffy![]()
I love her hair and I am so glad she decided to stop gettin relaxers because she clearly didn't need it. Lol@ my little sister not getting her hair like... at all.
My lil sis has my grandmothers hair... it still pretty but it looks nothing like this.
About the underlined, no none "needs" a relaxer, regardless of hair type.
About the bold, all hair is beautiful and to make a comparison where you imply that your sister's hair is just not as pretty as your stepmom's is just perpetuating the idea that looser hair types are prettier than tighter ones. I hope that it isn't something you've said in front of her because little kids pick up on everything and many women grow up with complexes about their hair specifically because of those types of sentiments.
Anyway, you've got some luscious hair in your family and your sis is a cutie pie!
If i am correct, i think its been since like 2006. Yea because she just completely cut it all off. She had like 3 inches of hair..Her hair is very nice and BIG!!!! How long has she been natural/ stop using relaxers?

Right on!! I also like the sister's hair better. She is just young but if it is taken care of and gets some length to it, it will be even more beautiful!
Yea i tell her all the time that her hair is beautiful and try my best to do styles that will make her see that. I did a twist out on her hair once n she called it the "hanging hair style".Her hair is seriously gorgeous. I hope baby sis does not get a hair complex. Her hair is gorgeous, too.![]()
I clearly understood what MsLizziA was trying to say. Her little sister didn't get a certain hair pattern. I don't think she ever said it was ugly. She mentioned it was different. Don't jump on her now...
*bows out*
I understood her first statement about not getting the mother's specific hair type. But then she went on to say "it's [little sis' hair] still pretty but nothing like this [mom's hair]". I wasn't trying to jump on the OP at all. It's just that sometimes we don't realize that the things we say carry far more meaning than we intend.
That type of comparison is just one of the many ways little black girls form negative views of their own hair. To say that the little girls tightly coiled hair is pretty, but not as pretty as her mom's looser coiled hair feeds into the good hair/bad hair dichotomy. I only said something because the OP clearly feels fine with making that comparison and may not have realized the effect it could have on her sister. Especially since the OP also has a looser hair type.
yea i just think that whole statement was taken completely outta context...well.... moving on..
Yea. I understood what was being sayn, its just didn't think it was all that serious... but thats just meYeah, it really was! I understand that this is a hair forum but there are way more important matters concerning the welfare of young black girls than hair. I understood what you were saying and so did many more but some people always have to take it there.
