I know everyone has seen the newspaper ad being circulated, but I saw this in the store and couldn't help but take a picture.

Comments? :look:

wth is it? A relaxer station with discounted prices in honor of black history month? I guess it's lame but not insulting. Who is the girl? It looks like an amatuer picture.

I saw that last night at Baker's, a Kroger-owned store here in Omaha, NE.

My thoughts....

:wallbash::rolleyes::perplexed:nono::moon: :badidea:

:thatsall:

That display is a big ball of WTF!

with the millions of dollars these companies make you would think in 2010 their thoughts on advertising to us as a demographic would be somewhat on par

but no--lolol--that would be asking for to much common sense...

yes we use and buy relaxers--but im sayn...

:look: I would assume the hair product company printed & provided that before I would assume that Kroger printed them up just to hold hair products. :lachen: They would make a cheap paper sign and be done with it.

Can anyone tell what the wording on the bottom of the display says?

ETA: You can even see the pallet still under the display! Get mad at ORS for this one, not Kroger.

I'm not sure what word to use for that display... just plain ignorant? :smirk:

...Grocery stores might as well get a "Celebrating Black History Month" display for this item too:

::sigh:: Every year there's some ignorant, jacked-up grocery/drugstore display. Anyone remember the walmart display photo from last year circulating on the internet that had the cheap cornbread brand and canned "yams"? CANNED YAMS!??

Because nothing says black history like olive oil relaxer and hair dye.

The struggle continues.

*DEAD* :nono:

*fist in the hair...I mean, air*

I am also very annoyed by the CHICKEN nugget singing, rapping commercials McDonald's is running for BHM! :ohwell:

And the Popeye's commercials... If I have to hear anymore singing for chicken I think I might lose my ***t. Seriously.

Ugh :wallbash: I can understand the  nature of this display just like you ladies can.... but I think that ORS relaxer wanted to preemptively strike against the people who say relaxer= racial self hatred. And this was the best they could come up with :perplexed

It comes nowhere near the cotton ball display that was at CVS. (I think it was cvs, it was some drugstore).

I was going to stop by Kroger to pick up a couple of things. I will be very interested to see if they have such at mine. Other than that, no comment. I mean what is there to say :wallbash: ?

If they do, please check out the writing on the bottom! I swear, that's an ORS manufactured display, not a Kroger manufactured one.

They should have added some collard greens, hog maws, chittlerlings and pig's feet - :look: -

Ignorance has really been running rapid lately!!!

What was the cotton ball display? This is crazy.

You know how the drugstore have 'endcaps' at the end of the row that have various products hanging on them? This was an endcap that was displaying cotton balls/pads/puffs, and it had a 'Celebrate Black History' month sign above.

It was just bad positioning - I assume those sign were on every endcap, but the fact that one was showing cotton balls was just too much. *shrug*
