To define cirls I use-

Ecostyler gel
Sally's Beyond the zone Noodle Head
Tigi Curls Rock amplifier with Curls Rock leave-in

I want to try KCC

karens body beautiful hair milk. its a leave in but it detangles, defines and defrizzes and moisturizes.

KCCC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love that stuff! I use the knot today as well, but I have come to realize that if I put my shea butter mix on my hair at night and then use the kccc in the morning, I really don't need the knot today...actually, I like it better with the shea butter. I ran out about a week ago and had to order more. During the interim, I tried different products to tame the frizz and nothing worked like my staple. I wish I could order it in a 10lb tub! It's awesome.

A mixture of Kerastase Oleo Curl Cream & Redken Ringlet w. Oleo Relax Serum. Works like a charm!

I found the Keratase Relax Serum at Target for $54.99!!!!!!! WTH????? What's in that stuff???? There's no way I'm spending that kind of money to TRY a product.:nono:

Im with you, for $54 a bottle I want to know fa sho this stuff is going to have me singing. Send me a sample I can use a couple of times.

as a 4b natural, i must confess that no product "tames frizz" for me and that frizz is apart of being natural

BUT

I do notice i have the least amount of frizz when my hair is clean (not loaded with products) and well moisturized - whatever products your use to achieve this will probably give you what you are looking for :)

I mostly just use conditioner (right now Tresemme) and I'm good as long as I leave it alone until it dries. Also, Afroveda cocolatte and the curl define work well for me too- no gel involved. Although I DO love ecostyler olive oil gel!

I really like the Kinky-Curly Curling Custard. If you have a naturally visible curl pattern, the Curling Custard will define/defrizz it by locking it in place. Admittedly, the learning curve on how much to use for your hair type takes a while but once you figure it out, you'll be all set - literally  I am always pleased with the results.

Things that I've discovered while using KCCC:

- The looser your curl pattern, the less KCCC you use. So if you have different curl patterns on your head, you have to use different amounts of KCCC on each section.

- Depending on your curl pattern, your hair does not have to be soaking wet when using KCCC, it can be damp.

- You can also use KCCC to slick your hair back, if you tie your hair down with a scarf for a few minutes after application!

- One application can last up to 7 days! Just spritz your hair with a little water to revive it each day.

Redken ringlet curls, but honestly....

Washing my hair in the sink under cold/cool water, with my head upside down and running Tresseme Flawless Curls mousse through my hair while soaking wet...then flipping my head and hair back...never have frizz when I do that for some odd reason.

Aloe Vera Gel and conditioner....works and holds for a while....:) Tame the frizz. right now I am using only AVG...:)

Rene Furterer control emulsion anti-frizz, sometimes I'll add a little olive oil eco styler on top. To be honest tho, I just think so long as you rinse with cold water and make sure your hair is wet while applying product and leave it alone to dry- for the most part your curls will be frizz free and defined. Oh and sometimes I use my c-mop conditioner as a leave-in as well- i love that stuff

In the late 80s, as a kiddie, I tried that Gold curl stuff, curl activators, and the various Jheri curl products. That was...a soggymess with little curl definition. Next.

In the early 90s, it was mousse. Too crunchy, nope.

I moved on to the curl sprays from mainstream brands. Too drying.

In the late 90s it was mainstream gel. Too hard.

In 1999-2001, it was Am-Pro gel. Smelly, sticky, and yucky for little curl payoff.

In most of the 2000s, it was no-hold leave-ins like Wen Cleansing Conditioner (in Fig). Frizz-prone and less curl definitio; next!

Here I am in 2010. And I am back to gel. Although I don't care for its hardness, it is the only thing that artificially smoothes down the hair shaft (reducing frizz), and causes the curls to coil up to their sleekest and tightest.

Pretty much any gel will do the trick for me. Eco-Styler clear is good. A lot of the Euro-marketed gels (whether labeled "curly" or not) from L'Oreal Studio Line, Tresseme, Garnier Fructis, etc. work just fine.

The only gel I didn't think worked that great was the ICE Fantasia Olive Oil one---it seemed almost more emollient than it was gel-y and it didn't have enough power to reduce the frizz on my fine-textured flyaways. Fine hair really seems to want to just fly all over the place, doesn't it?

I will also say that the narrow-bristled Denman brushes (like the 7-row or 8-row classic one) do provide some minimal frizz relief when used in a certain fashion, like this:

I don't do this is a lot, though, as it is time consuming.

It always seems to be a hit or miss for me.

One day just leaving conditioner in works. Sometimes I need conditioner and gel.

It's never really the same.

I have to find a product to replace Garnier Curl & Shine.....that stuff was outstanding. I haven't had that kind of curl definition since they took it off the shelves.

WHAT TAMES THAT ANNOYING FRIZZ??? :wallbash:

Looking for recommendations! Thanks in advance! :yep:

I like the following:

1) Curl Gel-les'c - I love this! At first, I thought it was drying out or messing up my hair, but it wasn't the Gel-les'c. I wasn't deep conditioning like I was supposed to. This by far is the BEST curl definer and frizz fighter I have ever used. Hands down! Once dry, your hair will "move in the wind". LOL It's like a gel/serum combo and has excellent spreadability. It can be used on damp as well as dry hair (individual pieces). Most gels require very wet hair application, you don't have to do that with this one if you don't want to. I plan on ordering the 32 oz bottle for $95 (regular size is over $25).

2) Curl Keeper - Still an awesome frizz fighter, especially when used in conjunction with a good leave-in. You'll get defined, frizz free, shiney curls. The only reason why I don't use it is because I had to order it and would leave my hair crunchy. It's now found locally, but I've found better. Maybe if I move to a place where there's humidity in the summer.

3) Devacare Arc Angell - Should be used with a small amount of conditioner or leave-in. It defines, controls frizz and provides shine. I only use it when I want a change up or when I'm trying to preserve my other stuff. Don't really like the "stickiness" it gives me.

4) Aveda Pure Volume Gel - I love this, because it defines, controls frizz and doesn't away the volume like the other gels do. Sometimes I use a leave-in with it, sometimes I don't.

I have to preface to say I don't live in a humidity state, but people who do tend to love the above as well.

I'm really trying to find a creme-based frizz fighter/definer, but it's kinda hard. Most of them give me extreme shrinkage and gives me a strange dullish caste that I don't like. I heard Afroveda might have some good ones. I'll see.

I think if your hair is well moisturized in general almost anything you use will result in less frizzy hair.

how do you use your curl keeper? i have a liter bottle but don't think ive got the hang of it yet...

honestly...it's hard to totally obliterate my frizz as my hair just IS...but applying product to soaking wet hair, wayyy before even starting to style helps keep it at bay. for instance two wash and goes ago, i used lustrasilk as a leave in (the argan oil one which worked wonderfully might i add) i smoothed it through each section of my hair and bunned it up while i proceeded to style. i put the leave in on this way, and then when i take each section down i apply the gel.

kccc, ecostyler, and curl junkie curl fix worked wonderfully to smooth down the frizz.

oh and i keep a bowl of cool water nearby to rewet my hair when styling in case it starts to get dry.

Braid/Twist Outs:
Afroveda Curl Define + KBB Super Silky makes my hair tame, frizz free and moisturized for days.

WnGs:
KC Knot Today (or a little Afroveda Curl Define) underneath as a leave-in and KCCC on top tames my frizz and defines my curls like nobody's business. I hadn't done WnGs the last six months since my BC bc my hair always came out so frizzy (or got that way a couple of days right after the wash), but now I can do a WnG and diffuse dry and I am good to go in about 30min if I need with really cute hair....AND it lasts for days (like 5-7!) I cannot believe I was sleeping on this stuff for so long.
