Zerran Reform: I did a strand test and .....

*Update: I was using and still am using a BKT Marcia Texeira. Zerran sounded like it would be promosing but its not. Which is why I remained with Marcia Texeira.

At the time that I wrote this thread, I was also having a hard time getting my hands on MT but obviously I ended up finding some good vendors and obtaining it is no longer an issue.*

First you guys need to know that I have a BKT in my hair. The first step was to apply the clarifying shampoo...to my surprise, why hair didnt curl back. Usually when i was my hair my hair curls.... With the clarifying shampoo my hair was straight. The clarifying shampoo doesn't smell strong and that is a plus.:yep:

So blow dried my hair strands with low heat, and to my surprise again my hair section is straight. I applied the activator. It doesn't smell, but what I didn't expect was the consistency of the activator. Its really light, like water. I applied it to my hair section and then lightly blow dried the hair with low heat until the hair is 95 to 97% dry. I flat iron my hair and my hair was super straight. As per zerran instruction I rinsed my hair and applied the Hair redemption treatment for 5 mins. My hair is straight and soft. regardless if wet or dry. Even I used to get my hair relaxed, my hair would still curl back. After this strand test I am quite impressed with the results.

I will do my hair entirely with zerran in 2 weeks. I simply want to see how my hair will be like after today. I also want to see how my hair will react when I actually use my usually deep conditioner, etc

I will post back when my hair is fully done with zerran reform.

Thanks for the update. I am really interested in seeing how this one works.

Thank you,

I forgot to mention the reason why I have the BKT and the Zerran treatment on top of my hair. The zerran reform is compatible with any hair treatment. So what I want to maintain the straight silky hair results that I got with my BKT without worrying about my hair reversing if I'm working out etc. I'm hoping this will cut down the heat I use overall on my hair and still have the silky straight hair.So basically I want to be able to do a wash n go and have silky straight hair. This seems to be solution to my wishes.

Plus, Its easy to use and Its ok to overlap with zerran reform. I cant self relax to save my life. So I'm in heaven right now.

Did you have the smoking....have to vent the area? I thought this form has no chemicals

Isn't this permanent?

How does it compare to BKT?

Yeah, I tried googling this and I don't understand what component in this product actually straightens the hair? OP, are the ingredients listed?

There was smoke but it smelled like nothing...The amount of the smoke is the same amount of smoke you would see when you do a regularly flat iron
you hair. My hair was almost fully dried before I flat ironed the section. No there was no sizzling sounds...LOL:lachen::lachen:

According to the company, its not permanent at all. It seems like a short-term solution like BKT without all the risky ingredients.

no need to be in a ventilated area... no fumes. no masks, no gloves needed. I dont think it would make my hair as straight if used alone compare to BKT. For ultimate results in my opinion I would need to do a bkt and then do a Zerran reform or do more than one zerran application. Just my opinion

no its not listed for the activator because i think its not patented yet. From what I understood, its all natural they use corn protein to straighten the hair. eys its all natural , no fumes , no smells. which i love

The activator does the straightening and the redemption is like a deep conditioner

im intrigued about how this works. this is not like japanese straightening is it?

No not to me. It seems more like a keratin treatment. Instead of the Keratin with the fermaldehyde, adeldehyde, etc is not in zerran. It uses corn protein instead of the keratin. Since the consitancy of the liquid activator( the straightening agent ) is more liquidy (water like)than the BKT treatment ( which is more like a creamy conditioner) . Because zerran is more water like it penetrates the hair quicker and unlike with BKT you dont have to wait days before rinsing.

that is what Im seeing. And again it seems whenever people think of this product they think that you have to flat iron your hair when its dripping wet..nope the process is quite similar to a bkt.

Thanks BHD for the tag! Appreciate you for testing it out! Sounds like the move! I've been dragging my feet getting it (I know, ), but it sounds like something that could work for me! I am 10 months post and may be able to fully transition out between henna and this! Will break down and get it hopefully next week, do a strand test and give a report... HHG!

So how straight do you think your hair would get with the Zerran alone? My hair straightens easily but puffs out within minutes of straightening.

Did anyone ever do this and what were the results after the first wash? Did it really stay straught in this heat and humidity? I think I would like to try this. I did not have great succes with Global BKT. My 4A hair ate the BKT and said "NEXT".........
Hair looked great after first application, but quickly frizzed up as soon as I started working out or exposed it to humidity. Zerran sounds to good to be true.....:perplexed:perplexed:perplexed
Is anyone else interested in this product? There doesn't seem to be that much interest.

Thanks BlackHairDiva for trying this. Reneice has done a strand test and so far she likes this. I am trying to get an appointment with her to get this treatment. I would love to see some pics.....
Even of the strand test.....please post, pretty please!

REFORM does not work! REALLISSE does not work! Ive worked close with the company and the woman who owns it, she demonstrated it and later i found out she doesn't have a license! LOL! They tried to tell me I didn't have the correct tools but then they stuttered when I told them i was educated and used their tools. When you rinse both the systems the hair is mildly successful. Then after you wash it again, its over! (of course it works temporarily, you are changing temporary bonds). The few people I worked on were very unhappy but thank goodness I used them as test clients so I didn't lose their credibility.

As for the product ingredients, they read okay and there is no formaldehyde but the formaldehyde issue has been dead for awhile and its not something we need to concern ourselves with anymore. The flat iron is 450, which is way too hot. Trust me when I tell you, the protective spray they give you to use is not enough to protect the hair. 450 degrees on damp hair is dangerous and each test client had breakage that continued to break weeks into the service. The hair Redemption did not help, I turned to better products and a nice trim to fix this issue.

Try using other smoothing products on the market! There are several and they are all wonderful. You don't have to fear formaldehyde anymore.

I opted for BKT 3 years ago. Im using MT and Im happy.

Sorry I didnt update this thread . I figured since I was posting heavily in the BKT support thread I didnt need to update this one.:look:
