yuck im so disappointed

in some past posts i have spoken very highly of lustrasilk cholesterol with aloe vera for its wonderful detangling abilities. well i remember when sally had a sale for 99 cents i bought two. those were ones with the black lid and said 25% extra free. this weekend i opened one of those tubs for the first time...i noticed the consistency looked different. the old formula had more of a creamy melted pistachio ice cream look. this one looked different but i said what the hell and proceeded to condition with it. well to my surprise that stuff made my hair so hard to detangle it wasnt even funny no slip at all

well after searching for an old empty jar i kept with the original packaging with the white lid i looked at the ingredients and compared it with the newer version with the black lid and i couldnt believe they changed the formula! i mean the ingredients were totally different. im so upset now. im glad i didnt buy more than two. this new formula is totally not working for me. im so mad especially since the old formula with the white lid is practically extinct around here

say, add some evoo in it and try it again. If it doesnt work, shave your legs with it. dont forget to tell us the difference between the 2 formulas.

Good suggestion with the evoo, anky. I do this with some of my conditioners to give them a little kick and it seems to do the trick.

Girl I feel you! I thought it was me........BUT as a last sitch effort, I tried it last night just before chunkin' it in the trash,,,,USE HEAT! It's amazing what 15 minutes with heat did for this stuff. I still won't buy it again though, cuz you're supposed to be able to use it with or without heat. Buy the tea tree one it is AWESOME. Tingly scalp and everything! I'm gonna take my other herbal jar back for the tea tree one tomorrow.

I liked Lustrasilk originally but I don't much care for it now...maybe I bought the second formula on the second try and that's why. Hmm.

Here are the ingredients ladies:

The old formula with the white lid:
purified water, stearyl alcohol, mineral oil, stearamidopropyl dimethylamine, sodium chloride, d=cetyl palmitate, phosphoric acid, aloe vera gel, keratin protein, cholesterol, methyl paraben , propyl paraben, DMDM hydantoin,edta, fd&c yellow #5, fd&c blue #1.

New formula with the dark green lid( not black like said earlier)

Deionized water, stearaolkonium chloride, glyceryl stearate, mineral oil, cetearyl alcohol, polysorbate 60, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol, distearyldimonium choloride, aloe vera gel, silk amino acids, cholesterol ,methyl paraben , propyl paraben, DMDM hydantoin, fragrance, yellow #5, blue #1

Moez thunder: you know what maybe heat will make a difference, usually im too lazy to sit under a dryer but i'll try it again this weekend.

Anky: if heat doesnt work maybe i will use it to shave my legs lol.
