You have to be able to cornrow to do crochet braids. B.S.!!

At least that's what I told myself after I got impatient this week-end. My ds and I came down with pink eye and were stuck at home. I had the hair and the time so I decided to do my version of crochet braids. I figured they wouldn't look as good as BMP or blkonyx's? but I persevered.

What I learned was that you have to make VERY neat parts but your cornrows don't have to be all that because the hair hides a multitude of sins. I also used some hair to "crochet" two cornrows together to create a sort of part. The hair is some bootleg hair they had at the bss because the stores in LA don't seem to carry Freetress which is a bummer.

I am really liking it. I think next time I'll have someone cornrow for me so the process will go faster.

having neat cornrows helps if you want the style to have lasting power, but if you don't mind redoing them every 2 weeks or so, it's not that big of a deal.

i get my cousin to do my cornrows, but i will do my mom's and my sister's on my own.

It's CUTE! Crochet braids are the best thing since bread!(So easy to maintain, install, & remove) But you did good and it looks good on you.

Thank you! You are so right about the maintenance and there is easy access to my scalp for growth aides, etc. Not to mention the hair cost me under $20. You just can't beat that. I think this protective style is what is going to take me to WL!

OMG (my Cali girl is coming out!) you don't understand how much I appreciate the compliment. I had your fotki and the thread you created up as I sat on the couch crocheting away and watching Penelope and The Proposal on Netflix. I think this may be a staple since the price is right and I can do it myself. Thanks again.

Newbies and Lurkers, you can do this easily. Trust me because I really can't cornrow that well. The cornrows are tight but UGLY

Very pretty yardyspice!:yep: Love the hair you chose it looks great!
