Hi, and welcome!!!

When I started reading I saw that your problem is dryness? Pink Oil moisturizer is a big culprit of dry hair. Stop using that immediately! What would be better would be a light olive oil based product like hot six oil or a creme hair dress like Organic Root stimulator Olive Oil creme.
How often are you washing? Trimming? Do you heat style often? Is your hair dyed? How often do you relax and with what, lye or no lye? What are your hair goals? What are you looking to acheive w/your hair?

You'll find a lot of useful info here and everyone is very nice

Again welcome!

Hey, and welcome to the board. Pink Oil is one of the most drying and it smells funny to boot. I agree with the ladies. Try a light oil. I use wildgrowth hair oil which my hair responds to very nicely!

i trim it every six weeks,it seems the trim just makes it shorter.i use a no lye relaxer, dark and lovely.its not dyed.my hair goals are to get my hair to my shoulders at least, its a start!i wash once a week coz of how dry it is.i'm trashing the pink oil right now!!!!!!thanyou guys.

Mortensgirl,

If your hair is not split I would say to lessen your trimming because your stylist may be cutting off more than you actually grow in a 6week period. This had been happening to me.

How often do you blow-dry? If you must blow-dry I'd say do it no more than once a week and do a pre-dry with your hair combed straight down with a leave-in conditioner and/or heat protectant under a hooded dryer. Then follow up that with the blow-dryer on warm. I don't know what Pantene shampoo you use but you should look for one that is really moisturizing and you might want to start doing conditioner washes instead of washing with shampoo every week.

You could try condition washes with vo5 conditioners about 3-4x a week cuz I know that helped with my dryness and helped stretch out my relaxer

welcome, mortensgirl!

i agree with what everyone else has been saying, especially ms kenesha. normally when you cut your hair ever 6-8 weeks, it's to maintan a style not when you're trying to grow your hair. so if your ends are not split, step away from the scissors.

Hi :-) Instead of blow drying how about getting a hooded dryer ? It seems like conditioners work better when used in conjunction with gradually dispersed heat(like with the heat of a hooded dryer). That might help to lessen the dryness factor.

okay, the pink hair lotion is gone.i blow dry once a week.i'm going to watch it with the trimming.how do you condition wash???? i got some hot six oil.

To do a conditioner wash just wet your hair and apply the conditioner to your hair and scalp and massage in. It's the same as using shampoo except you use conditioner. This keeps your hair soft and moisturized.

so the whole *only wash once a week*thing is a farce is it????

A lot of people achieve great results from washing once weekly. I do co washes to keep the shedding and breakage to a minimun.

Welcome!!!!

I am one of those ppl who cannot wash more than once a week but thats ok if you cant. To keep the moisture in my hair I spritz with bottled water(some use distilled) and I seal it with Oil. I hope that helps.
