You gotta try this!

Only if you have no plans but to stay home and do your hair... I'm quite sure it has been confirmed that conditioners absorb better on dry hair but unfortunately I'm not able to find the thread(s). Like a dry mop or sponge our hair has the same effect.

Okay for the past two weeks I've been experimenting with applying my conditioners on dry hair which to me appears to be highly effective.

Friday Night - Wash my hair w/ my regular moisturizing shampoo and let it air dry.

Saturday Morning - My hair is for dry, slightly damp in maybe one/two places but for the most part it's dry. I apply my conditioners and do a steam tx and/or let it air dry; Rinse; Apply leave-in conditioners; Set and viola! My hair is absolutely loving this!!!

I love this idea! So excited to try....what I always hated about the idea of dcing on dry hair is that it would be dirty as well. Never ever thought to do this! Ingenious! :)

I'm telling you ladies your hair will thank you! I'm not sure how to put it to words but my hair responds differently when I do it this way.

I tried it with steam and I didn't quite like it; I was worrying about any possible negative effects, and my hair didn't really feel any better at all. :ohwell: I think I'll feel much more confident in dry DC'ing under a hood dryer for some reason. I will just try dry DC'ing though as I think this could be beneficial particularly when I'm deep in my stretch.

I have been doing this on pre-washed hair for years, but instead of a steamer I use my heating cap. I think my hair likes water-based DC on dry hair, and on my damp hair it like more oil based DCs so sometimes I would apply a thin layer of oil prior to my DC if I'm doing it on damp/ring dry hair.

So OP ... you wash your hair the day before but don't condition it? Your hair doesn't break or anything from just doing that? My hair usually feels super dry after washing with shampoo (no matter what shampoo I use) and I couldn't imagine going more than 10 minutes without putting conditioner on my hair. It sounds interesting but I'm not sure if my hair will be like :nono:

I love DCing on dry hair. I don't know why, but it makes my hair feel so very soft compared with DCing on wet hair.

I don't know if I could go a night with airdried unconditioned hair but I just DC'ed on dry unwashed hair then shampooed and did a quick 5 minute condition afterwards and my hair absolutely loooves it  This might be my new routine.
