a Milady Standard Cosmetology textbook from Amazon.com (you can go view the TOC). Students cover the book twice within 9 months or 1500 hrs in cosmetology school. The most recent version is from the year 2000.

the one from 2000 isnt the most recent.. I'm in Cos 100 and my book is dated 2004 (revised edition).

they have a black cosmetology book too.

Yes, they have different types (about 20 I think), but the standard it the book the exam is based on. Mine is from 1989 or so *lol* I went to CS in 1992---VERY far removed. Thanks for the update babe.

Not now, and I taught hair for while too. I have to make some calls to see what I need to do even though the only head I plan on touching is my own.

Yeah, I know it's good to have your license so you can buy professional relaxers and everything.. I don't plan on actually becoming a hairdresser (I want to go into real estate) .. just thought all of this would be good to know so when I have children, I can do their hair myself.

whats the name of the black cosmetology book??

This is so true. Now some companies require that you provide a Tax ID# as well. I think the CS book is a great buy for anyone who chooses to care for their own hair.

I am sure Amazon has the black cosmetology book as well, they have everything. Try Milday Black Hair, or African American Cosmetology, or something like that.
