You Are Such a Woman!

Middle

Guess who?
I hear this often.

Usually the guy is complaining I act like such "typical" woman.

My answer is... Would you prefer I act like a man???

Anybody else a stereotypical female? Do you think it's a bad thing?

um I have woman bits therefore I will act like a woman, I would dress and act like a man for the day around that person just to p!$$ them off, saying today I am Man, I do Man things, rah me Man.....

don't mind me I should go to bed....... :lachen:

LOL thanks for this. I should totally do this!

Yeah, I get this a LOT. Along with..."you're such a girl/girly girl..." "you're such a lady..." "you're so prissy..." Men and women, and friends/family and strangers, say this and I always blank stare because I'm just not sure how to respond. I think it's a strange comment. One of my female friends even told me that I was the most feminine and girly of all of her friends. The way it's said sometimes, I'm not sure if this is a good thing, or a bad thing. My son has even started commenting on it...

I get this a lot. I love being a woman and I relish in it. I just keep being myself because when I ask what they mean, they cannot even give me a clear response.

My boyfriend says this about how I think and that's when it's not a compliment.
He says that everything about me is all "girl" and I know nothing about men or how men really think.

A lot of men see femininity as a weakness. So if it's men telling you this with an accompanying side eye, he may see you as weak.

I think a lot of men do see femininity as a weakness...in other men. Usually those men are very "alpha male" and really appreciate the feminity of women. After all, if they want something more masculine they can always go straight to the source (another man).

I do see how this comment (and similar comments) can have a negative connotation, but I guess it sort of depends on the reason the person is making the comment and whether you deem the qualities they are speaking of as positive or negative. For instance, if someone said "You are always petty/catty/vindictive/negative/(insert other insult reserved to describe "crazy female behavior"), and gossiping just like the 'typical woman'" I would be extremely offended. However, if someone said "You are always so poised and elegant. Well dressed, pleasant, and so beautiful. You're the epitome of a woman." I would be very pleased with that assessment. :yep:
