Everyone, as usual, I was looking online for some quick fixes for hair growth. I was looking up information on castor oil because I've been using it for about a month now. Well, I came across many articles on the internet about using castor oil and white iodine to aid growth. If anyone has heard of this, can you please give me your review? I'm trying to get as much growth as possible between now and May. I'm gonna go buy white iodine at the drug store and test it on a small area of my head to see if I have any reactions to it. If all is good, I'm gonna try it. Hopefully it doesn't smell bad, I'm tired of all this stinky hair growth junk!!

Well, I went to my local drug store and purchased decolorized iodine. I had to purchase it at the pharmacy because it's not stocked on the shelves. The smell is really strong when you open the bottle, but after you apply it, the smell goes away. I was afraid that the smell was going to ruin the whole idea of using the product successfully. Hopefully there will be a noticable difference in 2 weeks. I will keep you posted.

Hi CORBINS,

Well I just recently Heard about your Castor Oil + decolorized iodine mixture from another board and now I’m interested as well.

How is the mixture going for you? Any updates to share?

I've been faithfully using the concoction for my edges and it really works. Whenever I notice thinning or breakage, I run and get it and apply it for several weeks until I don't feel I need it anymore. I haven't been using it on my entire head, but I do still use it.

How many inches would you say you've gained, and in what time span, from using the white iodine?

When I think about this, it makes sense most of the growth aides used on this board have antibacterial properties, (Sulfur, Tea Tree oil, MN) so Iodine makes sense.

Actually, Today I asked the pharmacist for help with Alopecia and he said the only thing he can recommend is Biotin and iodine. I asked him why iodine, he said the iodine and the biotin helps with protein synthesis and that a lack of iodine could cause hairloss. but the point is the iodine, adding to your findings on hair growth.
