TRANSITION OVER! 11-22-14
My natural hair is growing very well. I felt so depressed a few days ago and posted a thread on how to be a strait nappy. I've decided that I'm not going to try to straiten my hair until May when I've been natural for 6 months. I've been looking at YT videos almost all day watching twisting and product videos. I saw a video where a girl used detangler before she twisted her hair. Since I had the JFM 2 in one conditioner detangler, I spritzed that one my roots and finger combed it in. After that, I put a small bit of shea butter on each twist. Not only did my hair feel and look moisturized, but it was easier to flat twist. My tender head did not hurt and it only took me 30 minutes to twist instead of my normal 2 hours. :ohwell: I am so happy right now because now I can overcome my 2 road blocks to my natural journey. My carpal tunnel won't hurt me because now this new method lessens the time it takes to normally do my hair. No more tender head because it seems that the combo of shea butter and this detangler makes twisting easier and I don't have to fight my hair to make the twists more defined. If anyone is struggling with their natural journey, they could look at videos on you tube. It helped this naturally challenged woman finally feel more capable of doing my OWN hair!:yay::notworthy Now I can really start to learn how to embrace my natural hair and keep it natural.

I'm not natural, but I'm just learning how to do my hair so I know exactly how you feel. It's kind of like a sense of freedom when you realize that you can take care of your hair and learn different ways to care for it. I love you tube. I think it's great that everyone is so selfless and takes the time to post videos for others. It really did change my attitude towards my hair so I guess I can say it changed my life! LOL!
