Wow..EVOO as a hair product for other than Deep Condish (kind of long)

Well, the other night I put some EVOO in my hair because I had planned on washing it that night, and my hair has been SOO effin' dry this winter.

Long story short, I fell asleep with the EVOO in my hair, woke up and had to go out with it still in my hair.

1. It did not smell like Olive Garden
2. My hair, which had been like hay the night before was shiny, dark, and smooth
3. My hair soaked up most of the oil and I wasn't dripping or greasy (thank God...not a good look  )

My hair took to the EVOO better than any product I have EVER used other than castor oil...and even the castor oil might be 2nd to the evoo.
My question is, does anyone use EVOO as a leave in?

I'm going to. I've already decided. My hair feels so good. My only thing is, should I add something to it? Just because I didn't smell like Olive Garden yesterday, doesn't mean that I will never smell like it. EVOO does have a smell to it, and I don't want it mingling with my perfume and have people like :perplexed . Also, does anyone use it when rollersetting? I'm going to start that on a regular basis too, but I'm picturing my putting EVOO in my hair, rolling it up, sitting under the dryer, and having Mario and Luigi come knocking on my door with breadsticks and spaghetti  from the smell of the EVOO "cooking"

Any input would be nice..

Either way, EVOO will be a new staple. a little goes a long way, and it's not THAT expensive

congrats!!! glad you something that works. I love olive oil too, i used it when my hair was feeling dry and straw like from henna, and it left my hair very soft. sometimes i cover my hair with a plastioc conditioing cap before berd and like you, when i wake up in the morning and remove the cap its very soft and moisturised. i don't add anything else with it usually, however i love using kerecare oil moisturiser along with it especially on the length of my hair. the results are even better

do you add essential oils or fragrance or anything to yours when you do it? Have you used heat? I might have to look into this keracare..or maybe I'll use NTM with it or something with it.

I love EVOO... and u can add some essential oils in it if u choose! oil on my hair especially the ends(but for me a little goes a long way) EVOO is great for taming the frizzies! I also use coconut oil and sweet almond oil.

This is what I do and I haven't smelled like a salad yet. Just remember that a little goes a very long way so there is no need to pour more than a teaspoon into your hand and work it in. I also don't use it every night but maybe every other night or every couple of days. It doesn't seem to weigh my hair down or attract dirt like some greases do for me. One thing though is that you should still add a moisturizer to your hair and maybe use the oil to seal it or just remember to keep using a moisturizer and use the oil however you want because i don't think that olive oil moisturizes the hair it just coats the shaft temporarily in my opinion.

Thanks ladies! This will be a new staple for me. I have a bottle in the bathroom cabinet and one in my kitchen now! I might think about getting some essential oils just in case.
