I wasn't going to say anything, and I can't find the Kanye shrug gif.

But um, I going to need her to get some 4B hair, damaged,dry hair and have to bring that back to life and mantain it and have it look good everyday. And grow it ot APL or longer then we can talk. About the "hardships" of being natural.

I'm going to get in so much trouble for this post!

I can't believe she is about to cut her hair really short..I was just getting into her videos hahahaha
 
Yeah I have the same hair type as her and I really can't relate.

I know if I spend a lot of time or money on my hair that's because I want to, and it would be fine without all of this :lol:
 
The more I watch her videos the more she irritates me. Which is sad because I liked her at one point. I'm not watching the video. I can't bare to listen to her complain about her hair.
 
8 minutes and 20 seconds of complaining about her natural hair. I just can't watch all that. The video seems sarcastic in a way. It doesn't seem ginuine. I guess she just wanted to make a video.

That video was made last year.

Everyone has their own struggles why cant she have troubles. She is not thinking about other folks' hair just hers. Yeah if she were to wake up one day with a kinkier type then go back to hers she would look at her hair differently but she doesnt.

Wait a minute. You can't believe she hates her curls. But, um, there's folks out there who hate the color of their skin.

It's not hard to believe. Why is it difficult to understand?
 
Typical 'grass is always greener' scenario. We have all gone through it one time or another. To be offended IMO means that you inherently believe her hair to be 'more managable' than your own, so you believe she doesn't have the right to complain.

I say if you don't like your natual hair texture, do something about it...relax, put on a weave, cut it, but being offended that another doesn't like their texture (cause you would rather deal with their texture) and getting all in a hissy fit won't fix your situation eiter. It's just a waste of energy, and leaves you feeling upset.

I rather focus on dealing with my own hair issues than worrying about what others feel about theirs.

Where is the You-Tuber the one who drives around in her car (for the life of me I cannot remember her name) when you need her because she gives pearls of wisdom on the woes of having Kunta Kinte type hair and I would love to hear a rebuttal from her about this video. :lachen:

EXACTLY. Seriously, what's really good? She can't make a video saying that she is frustrated with her hair and how she manages it? But oh, it's all good and dandy when a "nappy headed" chick does it? When Himay10nence did it everyone was in the thread hootin' hollerin' and cosigning. Ain't that some mess...

Told y'all, good hair syndrome is alive and well. Smh.

Btw, everyone is entitled to their opinion, so if you're mad she made the video, that's fine. You like it, I love it...
 
My sister has a similar hair type to Taren's and she's been complaining for the past 20 years about her hair. She is a 3b and I am a 4a, but I wouldn't trade my hair type for hers for anything in the world. I actually tried styling it and I gave up and told her to do it herself, so I can understand her frustration
 
That video was sooo annoying. I couldn't even watch the whole thing. EVERYONE has bad hair days they don't whine about it for nearly 10 minutes.

How can ppl criticize someone for their own struggles. Doesn't matter what her texture is, she is entitled to how she feels.

My friend has pin straight, fine hair. She complains non-stop because she can't really do much with it. Some people might say her straight hair is "good hair" but honestly, I know I would hate it.

Its not about your hair type its about your own relationship to your hair.

Everyone is entitled to want to do something different with their hair, or love their hair to death.

lovenharmony What you said what you said about the perceiving Taren's hair as inherently more manageable is very profound and very well put! Couldn't have said it better myself!
 
Wow, people act like natural hair is a modern mystery. That sucks. Lemmie run my fingers through my thick delicious coils and ponder over this mess. :perplexed
