Would you help me?

Nice & Wavy

Well-Known Member
There was a thread recently about a member here who said that her pastor wouldn't give food to a family who were living together....well, you know the story. Many of you spoke up and said that you wouldn't see a baby starving, etc.

I'm not calling anyone out, because I would be talking about myself. So, on that note:

Would you help me if I needed help? Would you all band together and help with things that I needed for my family?

I know that you would, if you could.

Therefore, if there is a member on this forum who needs help, would we help them or just send up our prayers?

There is a need folks....please help me help them.

PM me for more info. Thanks.

Luv ya!

The short answer should be yes.... Yet....

I'm thinking that if we have access to the internet (even through the library or somebody else's electricity), then we have some wherewithal to locate some help....

I would feel comfortable if local efforts could be arranged, similar to the meet-ups, so at least there's some accountability...there are lots of "fakers" on the planet who will play on people's emotions.... (not talking about anyone in particular).

So help in terms of connecting a person to resources in their local area....networking.... somebody knows somebody who works somewhere who can make that contact and help the person in need....

I pm'd her earlier to ask if I could do the same post and ask members of the forum to send care packages to her directly. I pointed out that I didn't feel that she was a charity but that considering the circumstances I'm sure others who felt like helping out could by sending non-perishables, diapers and formula. I never received a response back. It's a tough call, it's easy for me to say "Pride is a sin, take it" it's another thing altogether to be in a situation and feel that others see you as a charity. I believe that the lord moves in ways that we are unable to fully grasp. I truly believe it was divine intervention that allowed her to make it known to us so that those who can help her will help her in this time of need. It's been my experience that people feel more comfortable giving items and not money - I don't know why but that has been my exprience. If she could post a detailed list of items that her family likes/ prefers those could be the items sent to her. Such as huggies diapers size medium or Similac formula - whatever it may be. Just let us help. If the opportunity knocks - Open your door.

I totally agree with your post. My initial post was for items, not money.

Thank you for your heart of love for even thinking about doing anything. That is where I am as well.

I'm sure plenty of us would help. Maybe we should have an angel thread with someone volunteering to take pm's from folks in need (nice & wavy, wink, wink) and then the need could be posted and people decide if they can or want to help. No one wants their situation broadcasted - we could do it discreetly just like n&w just did.

That's a wonderful idea- I think it should be a private format too because although Pride is a sin we all suffer from it at one time or another. It'd be nice if people could pm what they required and you could tap in to a weekly list and anyone who had the means to do so - could purchase the item and mail it out (it's all tax deductable). I dunno if it can be done but I think it's a great idea we'd be helping one another without the shame or embarassment that comes with asking for help.

Thank you for being brave enough to post this thread - I thought about it but chickened out. Sometimes even when we need help we are afraid or embarrassed to ask for it. God bless you guys.

ITA with you. Networking is the way to go!

Hey sis....it's so nice that you came up with the Angel Thread and its always so nice that those that do, head it up (wink, wink)....j/k.

It's a great idea. We will see how this ONE works first and then we can think about moving on to bigger and greater things.

Thanks so much...you are a blessing!

Girl, we all are called to help those in need. I do this every single day and why not here?

People get hungry enough...that pride goes right out the window.

We shall see.......!

Hey ladies,

Thank you to all who have come in this thread (and PM land) to help out. I have sent you all pm's giving you the updates.

You ladies are the best of the best!

Luv you much!

I would love to help through items anyway that I can. I don't know who it is and never saw the thread, but help is help and I would love to do my best.

Thank you for this. I had just given up on LHCF because I had asked twice regarding helping people and got no response. So after logging on today and seeing that once again no one responded, I logged off and decided that it was over for me. I decided to come back on and check into this forum and lo and behold you are talking about it!
Thank you. I volunteer full time and know many women like her. My husband and I support a single mom and her three year old from our help group.
Please let me know if there is anything I can do here. Thank you for the Christian Fellowship Forum.

I have pm'd the person in need also, but got no response. Any way I can be of help, I would like to know.:)

What thread are you talking about? I don't think I've seen it and sorry that I missed it. I guess this was the time to do it huh? God is good!

I will pm you with the details, ok?

Blessings to you, always...and keep up the great work you are doing!
