Would a half-wig work on my big head?

I'm trying to put my hair away for the winter and don't feel like paying the 200 for braids right now. I was looking at halfwigs and wonder how they fit women with larger heads. I don't want to buy it unless it fits. :nono:

As a big dome lady myself , I can honestly say that falls can be worn without looking crazy. Personally, I stay away from any kind with a bang though..not a good look :nono:

Some of us peanut-headed half wig wearers  have been having fit problems with the Outre Quick Weave brand...they're tooo darned baggy! (...or my head is shrunken:lachen:) So maybe this brand might work for you? Also, Freetress makes a 2 in 1 pony/half-wig with a drawstring that's adjustable and seems to stretch pretty far.

HTH!

I have a giant sized head and the Outre hair ones are too big for me, too sometimes. I wonder what persons head they fit those to! LOL

Ummm... I like the Sensationnell ones. The Freetress ones tangle and mat too bad and too quickly. Like...after three wears! Seriously.

I say Sensationnel ones are the best... or maybe the Freetress band types. But not the convertible pony/fall ones. Those are garbage.

I feel better now...I thought I had an abnormal head or something:lachen:

Really? I had the exact opposite experience! My Sensationnels were awful and ratted out on me in less than a week...never again:nono: but I've had my Freetresses for over a month now and save a couple trims it's been all good...go figure:ohwell: I will say the straight Freetress ones tangle less than the curly ones...maybe that has something to do with it.

I measured the inside of some wig caps once. They all come with a 23-24 inche circumfrence. trust me when I say beevo ladde got mo head than she got body, can easily slip their nuggets into one. I am small headed so the first thing I have to check for is the ajustable band.

I wish the Outre ones were fitted better, cuz they have the best and most realistic looking styles. Unfortunately...they are for giants who have afros the circumfrence of a globe and don't braid them down before half wigging it.

Heh.

I like the SNG fullcaps. I agree about you with the straight ones. The Honolulu girl one hasn't tangled up on me as of yet... *crosses fingers* That's barely got any curls but still. I am so scared of the Freetress. I had soooooo many of those lil ponytail styles because I lucked up on a 2 for $30 sale. But um... Las Vegas girl... turned into Las Vegas hooker who rolled in the dirt... Grenada girl... and Toronto girl... looked absolutely horrid after a week of daily wear.

It was insane.

Girl...whatchu over there doin' to your wigs?? J/K
I've been rocking the Vegas Girl for almost a month now and it looks pretty good still. I just has to trim the last layer in the back to get rid of some rattiness. Now, Toronto girl...that did tangle up more that I'd like, however after two weeks it still looks like something I'd put on my head.

I do agree...Outre had the best styles, but the fit is just for a large bowling ball instead of a human head:lachen:

Then the Outre is what I'll get because everytime I go into the BSS and try on a wig I leave like :pullhair::pullhair::pullhair: because none of them fit me. I'll see if I can find one I like but another problem I have is they never look the same on me as they do on small headed people! Like the hair is way short and looks weird or something

I work my hair, hard. Err... I mean my alter ego works HER hair hard :lachen:

I wonder if the BSS stores could kinda fit them for us. You know how they will cut out the comb and sew 2 wig clips in for $1.00? Maybe there is a way they could snip a lil section out the back to make it smaller. I gotta find one of my old Outres and try it myself.

I miss the Amerie style. That curl pattern was an EXACT match for my hair. I would wear that all week and then wear my Amerie on the weekends with a leave in and a shower cap on so my hair didn't get that clubby smokey smell. Then they went and discontinued it. Plus the cap wasn't gynormous on the inside. This was all before I joined LHCF. See, proof positive that I belong on a hair community LOL
