Women 35 and older with BSL or longer hair!

I like this encouraging thread!

1. Age:36 and proud.
2. Hair length : MBL. I'm maintaining and hanging out at this length as I grow out my texlaxed ends.
3. Hair health (any damage?): My hair is healthier now than it has ever been
4. Relaxed or natural?: transitioning, more natural hair on head than texlaxed
5. Basic reggie including how long you stretch if you do. :I still frequently CW, and have added oil rinses, which I love. I mostly wear my hair up in an octopus clip, and hardly straighten.
6. Any other factors you think contribute to your long hair ie. diet and exercise, does your mom have long hair, etc.: I think exercise promotes good circulation and a healthy head of hair. I also try to limit my stress, eat a lot of protein, and drink a lot of water. My mom's hair was APL growing up, but she always liked shorter hair. She always told me if I wanted long hair to make sure I got plenty of sleep. It sounds silly, but when I get adequate rest, it seems like my hair grows better. My grandmother had long hair, and I follow her healthy hair practices now. I didn't always though. Much of what she was doing was LHCF standard procedure;"PS'G, leaving her hair alone, and not using heat. The older she grew, the more beautiful her glorious silver mane got. She had a head full of silver WL hair before she passed. I hope to be so blessed.

I haven't taken a current length shot in awhile, since I'm trying to stay away from heat.

1. Age - 40
2. Hair length - Past waist length
3. Hair health - its healthy. I need to trim my ends, but I'm in a hair challenge so I can't do that till January 2012.
4. Natural
5. Fall regimen: wash once a week & DC and rollerset. I apply avocado oil to my hair every night before going to bed. Put my hair in a doobie and protect with a satin cap. I don't really do alot anymore due to lack of time.
6. The only factor I can think of is I stopped relaxing my hair AND I'm a 100% DIY'er. I don't go to salons and I'm very picky on what goes on my hair. My last relaxer was Nov 2006 and I color the front of my hair every 2 months to get rid of the grays, but not the rest of my hair.
7. A current picture if you have one! See below

I can understand how a woman's hair might possibly be effected in the late 30's and 40's because if you haven't experienced it yet, hormones around that age can get out of control and it will affect everyone differently---some it may be hair, some will experience body changes, mood changes---so much can happen and it will have you feeling out of control.

I've experienced some body changes in my mid-40's but fortunately my hair wasn't affected---I feel like I'm finally getting my body back in control after dealing with issues for the past couple of years.

:yep: I'm just 30 and I can tell my hormones have changed. They're sometimes out of control. Thinning is hereditary amongst the women on my paternal side and they keep their hair VERY long to hide it.

Great thread and I'm very surprised at the ages and women responding to this thread!! Y'all look AWESOME!!
