I guess it doesn't matter,
but it does remind me of when you ask a stranger what perfume she's wearing and she responds "I don't know" which is bull*&*t. you know damn well what bottle of perfume you picked up this morning to spray lol!!! ok off subject but people who keep their regimens locked in a fortress reminds me of people who don't want to tell you where they got something ie. coat, fragrances, weave hair etc lmao!

I don't think it's that serious. I think it's more about technique than products. Besides if the person is like me, they used different products at different times and have moved on. I would hate to have to recall my entiiiiiiire product line up when I'm asked "how did I get my hair so healthy?" I'd be typing all day.
Very True!:yep:

I mostly tell what I do , without the exact products, besides my beloved Coconut oil , the only thing that stays constant, because everything else changes up, I'm always using diff conditioners to Cowash and to leave in ...yup yup

eta, I will give the list when asked tho, at least the most recent I've used or stuck with

haha that's funny

I remember ladies being all up on FinallyFree for her Daughter and the Vaseline, came at her all kind of ways AND sideways

that was sad:ohwell:

Oh lawdy, how could I forget the "Girl w/ The Long Hair" saga and the drama that caused?! That situation was exhibit A on why some choose keep their mouths shut. That lady shared her daughter's reg and she got TORE UP. Folks hassling her about everything from the Maxi Glide and the Vaseline to bugging her about showing her daughter at all. :nono: How much you wanna bet that those folks criticizng the kids' reg had NOTHING like her hair...length or condition? That was some serious crabs in a barrel mess. :lachen:

If ANYBODY'S got "secret sauce and mojo" those folks had it and now POOF....gone. No mo info. :nono: This was a serious case of the Black hair interwebz shooting itself in the foot! Grown women behaved just atrociously...that kid brought out CLAWS!

LOL....can't NOBODY say that chile didn't have huah! Nobody. Awe inspiring. Jealousy, close-mindedness, and straight up disbelief showed just why some folks are like :censored:

ITA, this only goes for ppl who are selfish. Now we all know ppl that want to be the only one with long hair, the prettiest one, the thinnest one....etc. You get my point. They want you to drool over their hair and have ppl tell them how beautiful and long their hair is but as soon as someone asks how and with what these results were obatained by using, they suddenly don't remember. Unfortunately there are some women that loathe the idea of other women having long hair. Sad but true. Now is you have legitime reasons for not sharing like the examples used by Jamaara and Irresistable then I totally understand because it's coming from a stance of concern and not being selfish.

I share my tips on hair and make-up IRL all the time. I want the women that I know to be pretty, and have long hair if they wish so if I can be of any assistance then I'm all for it. I have friends/co-workers setting up appointments for make-up application and you know what???? I don't mind at all. We are all women and want to be beautiful whatever that means to you so if I have the ability to assist then I will.

Hope I wasn't rambling, lol, it's late.

Oh WOW!!!! That's sad

:lachen::lachen: yes indeed!

only most of the time it is indeed one way:perplexed:look:

The holy grail mentality prevails, I just think we need to take responsibility for newbies and lurkers especially. I mean I will do it for anyone, but always mindful of that

I actually DO try to help newbs. I have an "adopt-anewb" and she doesn't know it (well maybe she's figured it out :giggle:). I saw people DELIBRATELY giving her advice against her hair type. :nono:
When people ASK for help and get mislead on purpose...:nono::rolleyes:.

As for lurkers, well what can you do? LOL...we're like The Who at Woodstock. There may be 500K people watching, but all we can see is each other. So...again, I do keep them in mind, but like w/ anything they have to use their discretion.

The fact that people want to rely so heavily on others makes me nervous and less inclined to say anything. This is pushing posters away...ones w/ tons of knowledge. It's a bad cycle. No sane person wants to be followed to the letter, IMHO.

LHCF is gradually losing its super longhaired posters behind this mentality, IMHO. They may still be members and lurk, but the advice well is drying up. Not good.

oh and MEEEEEEE

I was posting about wet pressing, Lawdiebee!!!

I must have wanted ladies to boil their hair , till I proved on cam I do it MYSELF!

Yeah.....responsibility

shoooot , even speaking up about what you feel is risky at all could get you hanged around here at times :look:

but errm that's a story for another day

Oh WOW!!!! That's sad

When she used her Maxi Glide...guess how long she was? THIGH LENGTH @12 years old. Now it's all gone. She has the longest loose natural hair I've ever seen on the interwebz in terms of where it fell on her body. :nono: Gone!

The mother tried to keep up her vids (she took them down a few times cuz of folks) but I think she started to get some serious drama. LOL...and THAT'S what you get for sharing? No thanks! :giggle:

yeah, I agree it's turning more and more into a sad and very complicated situtation to even speak up now

oh and I wasnt saying that directly to you.....I know you do:yep:

^^^ I know you know, but I'm just saying it. We get so many newbs and there's so much traffic, it's hard to keep up w/ a person/thread. They get so confused and you try to save them from PJism, but it's just too tempting for most.

It ain't the same LHCFworld for a newb now as when I started. I do my best, I do try even tho I often find myself frustrated and drained...:yep:

Iris am I exaggerating the kid's length? I just remember being like . Little impresses me, but SHE sho did!

just saw your edit

NO EXAGGERATION. That child's hair made ladies go ape boo boo nuts

:lachen:
They didn't know how to act

many were just wrong wrong wrong, not just on the board but by PM's , she was basically getting harassed

It doesn't bother me that much. Most people have their regime somewhere.

In the end, sometimes product mania leads to people going through the motions in their regime without understanding why they should be using x.y.z type of product. Learning the basics of what your hairs natural strengths and weaknesses are will allow you to pick the type of product you need to use. Then you can decide and experiment between brands for that type of product as you see if. If you don't/won't understand why you should use a product for your hair, you will always be at the mercy of catching a lucky break with a product recommendation.

Gymfreak you're talking way too much sense! Stop it! :giggle:

The thing is, let's say you find member X w/ the hair you want...she seems (based on pics) to have hair like yours in terms of texture and she uses Y prods. In theory this should produce similar results, right? Not necessarily.

What of her general health and family genetics? The pics you're looking are a general idea of her hair, you have no idea of what her hair "handles" like which tells you much more, IMHO. These factors alone make her head not so easy to read as one might think. This being the case, it's quite unrealtistic to think you'll be able to exactly produce her results using her reg to the letter. :yep:

This is like buying a Stratocaster thinking you'll sound just like Jimi cuz he played one too! :giggle:

 I learned this lesson the hard way. Well, I got the message pretty quickly when my hair got worse regardless of how much conditioning I was doing. Regimes should be relatively fluid based upon what you are going through at the time.

My regime now is very simple but the products I am using would probably overwhelm some heads of hair considering that I am double processed. I have to tailor my regime right now to that double processed hair to preserve the overall integrity which is what I have to concern myself with. That hair is growing out so I will probably have a another regime shift around Feb/March. It's about understanding product types and how and when to use them.

I wish it were that simple :lachen: If so I would have purchased the Wanakee/Hair oil products for Pier Boltons hair. I still have not seen anything like it.

Her hair is just breathtaking to me. You can tell that the quality of her hair is consistent throughout all those long strands.
Also people will look and think 'HOLY GRAIL MIRACLE GROWTH OIL'

but the good thing about that testimony is she tells about all the other stuff she was doing ALONG with using the products :yep:

And she was doing it for a good minute. I think consistency is what it boils down too. I am trying to get better at that myself. She found a system that addressed her basic needs and ran with it. She didn't do anything crazy and Voila! :)

Y'all mean Wanakee? Her hair was/is dope. LOL...she KEEPS it at WL. :giggle: If only we who used her prods could have gotten hair like hers. :yep:

Her products were very good tho. Her protective styles advice was also great. She had a good thing, but if people expected to have her EPIC MANE by buying her oil :nono:

Only sylver2 reminds me of Wanakee's lion's mane. :yep:

Ya know, it's just hard to tell folks there IS no miracle prod except patience. No matter what you use on your hair, it'll grow. Some prods are better than others for a head, but nothing is gonna take you from 2 in to 20 in in a month. People sometimes think you're holding out on them when you say this, but it's the plain truth.

Sometimes I think you can't win. Give your reggie and it's "suspect" cuz it's "too simple" or "too complex"...don't give your reggie/don't have one= selfish jerk.

yep! and try to save someone heartbreak it's 'you have hair and you don't want them to have hair' = ur haughty.....sigh

pretty much is no win

learnt that! :wallbash:

btw that's exactly what happened to finallyfree, she got GRILLED up one side and down the other privately, trying to get her caught in a lie, because it was 'impossible' for her to just and 'only' be using vaseline on her daughter's hair

there were folks trying to trick other answers out of her and everything

she was very frustrated

^^^ There's only so much you can do. Lots of folks gotta learn the hard way. If someone is desparate for a solution to what they see as a problem, many times they're gonna take it even if it may not be the best idea no matter what you say or how many times you say it. This is where discretion comes in on both parts.

Everybody's hair/scalp/skin's diff, I always keep that in mind. I can't project or foresee what someone's reaction will be, I believe in warnings but not scare tactics. What's a prize for one is poison for the other. If people don't experiment, they will never learn what works for them.

I know you have good intentions, but folks gotta learn the only way they can...on their own.

FinallyFree got grilled about her daughter even after she joined? I didn't know that. They weren't gonna trip her up cuz it is what it is...the kid's hair. Well I can see why she's not eager to share more info. LOL...harassment kinda puts many people off for some reason!

These chicks are constantly going on about how people "don't believe BW grow hair" yet they delibrately alienate the greatest head on the interwebz? Insanity! :nono:
