Hi, Ladies! I was wondering, since I don't wash my hair every day--due to thickness and not drying by morning, if swabbing my scalp w/ witch hazel is just as good as washing it when using Surge?

yeah, thatas how i did it with my cornrows. i either used witch hazel or seabreeze

I would think the witch hazel would be very drying to the scalp. I hear the surge alone has caused people(members on this board)to have flakey scalp.

Thanks, weaveitup! Did you have any problems doing it this way? @Haleni, I always follow it up w/ a moisturizing spray. Do you think that's OK?

I don't know, I guess it should be okay, since you are conteracting the drying with a moisturizer. Keep us posted on your results.

I used Witch Hazel when in braids, and it wasn't drying to me. It tightened my pores, but it was not drying like alcohol would have been at all. I just used an oil on my scalp afterwards and my scalp stayed clean and my hair grew...
