Doesn't that mean that the follicles are dead? If so, then no. The only thing that I know of that can re-grow hair on a balding head is Viviscal. They have had clinical trials which support the claims, it's the only one that has been proven. But even then it comes in thinner. Not sure if it ever returns to "normal".
My SO has been spraying Surge on his beard, b/c he has these spots where he has alopecia. He said every 4-6 years this has been happening. In some of the spots the hair has re-grown and is thickening, one spot has been stubborn and only a few hairs have reappeared. The stubborn spot was injected several months ago by his dermatologist w/a steroid, but was resist to that treatment as well.
I told him we would try Nioxin next and then the big dog... Viviscal. I would have started w/this, but he's a hairy boy anyway and Viviscal is going to increase the growth rate in all of the hair. It did for me at least & I'm on the hair side, but not wolfy.
