<font color="blue"> Ok I need advice. A few of you have mentioned wild growth hair oil. I was wondering if its good. I live in Canada and I'm having a hard time tracking it down but I was thinking about ordering it on the net.
Thanks to the great info from the gals on this site /images/graemlins/grin.gif i've been using a draw string ponytail for a week now and I love it! I put gel and activator then smooth my a hair into a bun.....but I was thinking of adding some sorta hair oil to the ends........

I've ordered it off the net before, and that was no problem at all.

But when I got it, it wasn't long before I discovered that I didn't like it at all! It smelled too atrocious for me. Not to mention that my hair is thick, so I had to put enough in there. I could smell it on my hair on the subway, and I was praying that no one else could smell it. That's when I said, NO MORE! Then the worst part is that when I put it in, about a day later, my scalp would feel dry and itchy. But everyone is different. A lot of people give it great reviews. Me, on the other hand...... NO THANKS!!!! /images/graemlins/grin.gif

I like WGO from time to time - I mainly use it during the winter because it is so heavy. But, many women on this board make their own. It's main ingredient is Olive Oil I can't remember the rest of them, but I will post them when I get home.
By making their own, many of these ladies have been able to bypass the smell factor all together. Besides it being a heavier oil, my hair really can't tell the difference between it and olive oil mixed with jojoba and rosemary.

I just put some in two days ago and my hair looks really nasty and dirty even though it isn't. It is REALLY heavy and if you have thick hair to begin with be careful. Don't get me wrong, I like the product but not on dry hair. I got best results when I put 10 drops on wet hair before my roller sets. After I didn't smell anything and my hair was shiny. If you do get it, try doing it this way.

I've been using it for about 2 - 3 weeks now and I love it. It made my new growth managable and soft. So far I've been using it when I wash my hair and then maybe 2 times a week or on my ends when I feel they need it. My BF has a sensitive nose and he has never once asked me what's on my hair or what that smell is. Now I have some Shea Butter Oil and I put that on my body and he hates the smell of that. Everyone is different. I also took a chance and bought it because I've read so many good things from ladies here about it. *** GOOD LUCK ***

I started using it exactly 2 months ago, and I love it. You actually have to find out what method will work for you when you use it. I have medium-fine 4a/b hair, and I hate anything that weighs my hair down. What I do is dip the end of my fingers once in the bottle and apply the oil to the ends (I do this on the day I get my hair washed and set) and then wrap my hair. It protects my ends very nicely and keeps them moisturized. Now on the night before I get my hair washed again, I use more and put some in my scalp too and give myself a good scalp massage. When you apply only at night, the smell is gone by morning. You get used to the smell after a while anyway. You do have to be careful about using too much, because it is pretty heavy. I did wash my hair one time and put some WGO while it was still wet, and let me tell you, I had almost no breakage. Of course, I have 2 left hands when it comes to styling my hair, but keeping it healthy is no problem.

Re: wild growth hair oil vs Doo Gro

<font color="blue">Thanks for your responce everyone!
Yesterday the guy at the beauty supply store suggested that I try Doo Gro in stead of the Wild growth Hair oil. He said he didn't carry the WGO because Doo Gro was just as good, didn't have the smell and was cheaper(according to his clients). Thats when I gave him the look....meaning are your just trying to sell me anything buddy? He gave me samples of the Mega Thick Anti-Thinning Formula (for your hair line) and Triple Strength Hair Vitalizer. I tried the Mega thick on my hair line it smelled ok, it didn't make my hair line ultra gressy and this morning my hair felt mosturized and not hard and smell free.....so i think I'll continue to use the sample. The triple strength I used on my ends of my bun I'm not sure how well its doing cause I haven't taken the bun out yet....i'm trying really hard not to mess with my hair too much. But I'll post my review of it later.

<font color="blue"> mmmm i was just surfing the net and I realized that the guy in the store didn't give me a sample of the Doo Stimulating Growth oil! The product that I really wanted to try /images/graemlins/mad.gif

Re: wild growth hair oil vs Doo Gro

I personally think the Doo Gro is a cheap imitation of the WGO. Plus it contains mineral oil. I love the WGO and it's a firm keeper in my product collection forever. It's great on the ends and just one drop to the ends really moisturizes and detangles well.

I love the WGO. to combat the smell i put couple drops of rosemary oil in. the WGO makes my new growth soft and managable and thats just great for me since im now trying to relax every two or three months.

Be blessed

Thanks to this board, I found WGO, and I really like it. I don't use it every day, but then again I don't think most people will need to (except perhaps natural heads). The smell is strong but not prohibitive to me. It works great on new growth and on my ends. It is heavy, but because it's made of mainly quality ingredients it absorbs into my hair and really moisturizes it. And it works really great on wet hair. Go WGO!!

I've am a keeper when it comes to WGHO. I've been using it since 1996, and if you go to my album every picture that has been taken has been acheived with the use of Wild growth. I don't put it directly on my scalp though, I've never put grease on my scalp (well once my friend didput some on my hair, and it itched badly and my hair was really greasy) I just put it on my dry areas and it seems to melt in. My boyfriend has gotten used to the smell. And I really love the stuff. I don't know where I'd be without it.
