People with lace fronts *think* nobody notices, but believe me, we do.
I hear you. I am calling all those who are wearing wigs or lace that are fool-proof so I'm aware of the possibilities. I know there are many participating in wig challenges and what not...Help me Ladies![]()
I wear half-wigs all the time and everyone thinks they're my hair until I tell them it's not. If you are trying to hide the fact you are wearing a wig, then it needs to be as natural as possible.
1. Get a wig in a realistic length/style/color. If people are used to seeing you with SL hair then don't buy a WL wig. It'll be obvious that way. If people are used to seeing you with straight hair, a super curly wig will draw more notice and you're more likely to be found it. Same with color.
2. Make sure the density of the wig is not to thick. It's super obvious when someone shows up with 5 packs of hair on their head. Don't do that.
3. Try to get a texture that matches your hair. My favorite wigs are ones where the texture looks like 4a/b either blowdried or manipulated in some way. I don't get relaxed texture because people would look at me funny and my hair wouldn't match it anyway.
4. SHINE. AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE. That's the most obvious giveaway. If it's shiny like it just came out of the yaki factory, then people will know it's a wig. Buy wigs that aren't shiny or use baby powder to get rid of shine.
As far as lacefronts, they all are obvious to me. The hairline never looks right. But I'm sure you can find one that works for you if you look around.
You are speaking the truth. Before starting this thread I kinda figured that a half wig seems to be the route for me, although I wish I can rock a lace flawlessly-which would take some serious searching and spending. I am just curious what you all are doing while keeping it classy. Big Thanks, Hun![]()

where do you find wigs with 4ab texture that's not an afro wig? I've been looking for some, but all I find are really shine relaxed texture or just large spiral curl type halfwigs

I only fool people after about 2 weeks when the shine wears off and I'm wearing a wig with a bang...
I am not afraid to tell people it's a wig, and I really don't care how obvious it is. I agree with msa, almost all lacefronts are detectable... it's the "super perfect hairline," or the "excessive babyhair" or something in the shine and how it looks pulled back.
Don't try to fool people, just live it up. I do... I have a FULL head of hair underneath... I'm just trying to hit a certain length.
I agree with everything, especially the last part.
I don't make it my mission to fool people. And actually, when people are like "you blowdried your hair it's so pretty" I am quick to tell them it's a wig. Like supersonic quick LOL.
They know I have hair...but I have GOALS and I'm not worried about what anyone thinks.

I am.
I will always be a beauty queen even if it is in my own mind.![]()
Exactly... it'll be more flattering when they ask if "that's another wig?" and I say "Nah girl it's all mine, wanna touch?!"

I have no problem telling people that I'm wearing a half wig. Sometimes I volunteer the information. I think half wigs make it easier to pass it off as your own hair.
For some reason, lacefronts look super obvious to me.
I only rock wigs that I KNOW I can blend my hair with. Right now I'm wearing Sensationnel Acacia and all i have to do is do two flat twists down each side of my head in the front. I can leave the twists in and put the wig on (tucking the ends inside) or unravel them and pick them out a bit and they blend perfectly.
I only like curly/crinkle wave half wigs because they are easier to blend IMO.
I get a kick out of people thinking it's my hair and then telling them it's not. I guess I'm weird.
Well then you're gonna have to super extra careful. There's nothing wrong with that. Also, if you're going to buy a few wigs in different styles, make sure the hair texture/length/color favor each other.
