Wig wearers - where do you buy yours?

I've been searching wigs and hair additions online and I'm wondering where you ladies who rock these get yours?

Also, any opinions on which brands look the most natural? I'm interested in buying a wig and giving my troubled hair an extended rest, but I'd like to find something that resembles my own natural hair. The majority of the straighter styles I've seen for black women seem to have too much hair to look natural, especially in the front and where the wig hair is parted.

So where are you buying yours and what retailers would you recommend?

This is a VERY good question. I usually buy falls online from GMBS (Sensationnel). I've also purchased a fall from a local wig shop, it's human hair and doesn't have that silky coating most human hairpieces tend to display. That brand was Best Hairs by Roma Lee.

i've been reluctant to buy wigs online because I need to at least be able to touch them, play with the hair and TRY THEM ON before I make a purchase.

I usually get mine from BSS and I have also google'd really good wig shops in my area, perhaps you could do the same.

I don't know if this is your first time buying/wearing wigs but if it is I would really recommend you go to a wig shop, they have specialist there that can show you how to wear them and take care of them and you can try on a wide variety of wigs at one time and then decide what is good for you, as opposed to online shopping where you only have pictures to go by.:)

then maybe once you get a feel of what works for your head and your preferences you can match that with wigs found online or less expensive wigs found in most BSS

where are you i am in jersey i go to my local hair store i wouldn't buy online because you dont know how its going to look in person
heres a couple pics of one of my wigs

I usually go to the BSS to scope out new wigs. I don't try them on. I never do. I just take my chance, which may or may not be the best thing, I suppose. But If I find a style that I like and works well, then I may go online for the best price to buy duplicates. Or if I see something in the bss that I like and they don't have my color, I make a note and go look for it online.

I like Sensationnel as well. I have ordered a couple from HairSisters.com but I have discovered a couple of beauty supply stores that carry the same brands so that's been very helpful.

Also, I just started using Isoplus Additions Styling Foam and it has extended the life of my half-wig!
