Why does it cost less money to mess up your hair?!

Just a little venting here...... I am trying my hardest to stay on these challenges, but i am in weddings like every other month and im going out more often, and I still have some self esteem issues about wearing my natural hair out.

But my real focus is that I am in a wedding on saturday and I am on a personal no heat challenge (ie. no flat ironing) and it costs 130 dollars for a strawset that I am getting. If I wanted to fry and burn my hair up at my local dominican/AA salon it would cost a mere 30 dollars. It doesn't make sense-it costs less to mess up your hair! LOL

LOL! That's the way it is with everything it seems. Shortcutting and half a$$ing will always be easier and less expensive. I guess it's the same reason it caost more to eat healthy, than it does not to. Quality always comes at a premium.

$130 is REALLY steep for a strawset, but like the pp said, it's easier for them to do damage. Strawsets are time-consuming and tedious so they're definitely going to cost more than a quick flatiron.

ITA!! It usually costs more for better stuff. If you go to McDonalds with $5 you get a full meal, if you go to the health food store you get one ingredient for a meal. :ohwell:
