Right after my one inch trim? Ok i maxiglided for the first time since october or something and decided ill get it trim at great clips she cut off one inch i ain't trippin on that but i get home to inspect it and i see splits still! I'm so confuse whats the problem? Thats so not cool. I deep condition weekly cornrow ma hair wet tie it up and throw on a wig the next day and moisturize daily. For heat protectant i used chi this spray stuff and sabino. I also used joico split end mender. This is crazy!

i am having the same problem..I cut my hair in the beginning of Dec and i saw quite a few splits..I haven't used heat..i have been doing protective styling. Very annoying

It sounds like your hair was split further up the shaft than an inch from your ends. If you don't cut off your hair to a point that lies above the original split you can't get rid of it. I hope this makes sense.

Aw, now that makes of mad. Because i told her i wanted all the split ends off and i wasn't worried about evenness cause i can throw on a wig. I guess i won't be going back to great clips. But i have another question. Why dose my hair seem to do better when i blow dry it than air dry it i mean i only blew it out five or six times im the last three years but i want length to the max should i keep doing what i was doin wit the air dry thing or blow dry it?

Since there are soooooo many of us who have just recently had this happen. I'm starting to think the aliens did it. Osama did it. Heck, OJ did it. lol

There is something up with alllll of these splitting ends. The only thing I can come up with that is reasonable is the dry cold air. This winter came pretty instantly, unlike it usually does.

Normally we get autumn, then winter, but this year it was like it went from summer straight into winter.

The blow dryer smooths your cuticles down. How are you air drying? Is your hair loose?

I just style it wet and leave it. Right after i add leave ins i cornrow it wet and tie it up and leave itlike that for 4 to 5 days but moisturize the cornrows daily.

might the shears used to do the trim. If they not quality of sharp enough ive heard they'll cause split ends

I agree with this. I have to go back to covering my hair when I go out.

you could have had inner shaft splits. I noticed them in my hair last month, I was inspecting a shead hair and it had a hole in it. the end was not split but within the shaft was split.

Honestly I don't know what to do. I am going to give my hair one more month to see if it shows any signs of growth, if not I am going to get to cutting
I feel like I have made a mistake not trimming enough

I don't know... I make sure to ALWAYS cover my hair before going out into the cold air. Yet I am plagued with splits. I'm doing yet another S&D right now. Could it be my lack of sufficient deep conditioning??? I just don't know.

And I have had the split shaft before as well. So annoying! :wallbash:
