Who uses Sabino MB AND a heat protectant at the same time...

me.

I don't really care for the Sabino like my Fantasia IC Straightening Serum (in the pink bottle - not the spray one).

But, I paid all that damn money for the Sabino and the way everybody raves about it, I feel like I GOTS to use it.

I am just not feeling it alone, though.

What didn't you like about Sabino? Did your hair still revert or did it not protect your hair from heat damage?

Well, I did not really care for the way my hair felt while it was still wet. It was not "bad" really, but not what I am used to with the Fantasia.

I put it all over (I did use my leavein against the directions) and proceeded to blowdry and my hair was just not feeling soft the way it normally does at about 20% dry.

So I stopped and put my Fantasia on all over. I have done it like that twice not. I have not totally ruled out the Sabino and maybe I need to use it according to the directions. At this time. I am not ready to put it on my hair straight without a leavein moisturizer.

Oh well. I will keep trying.

I use Sabino and CHI Iron Guard spray when I blow out my hair...just in case. I'm paranoid i guess. Plus I know that Mr. Sabino is always saying that the heat appliance must get to 450 degrees for the sabino to be truly effective. So since I'm just lightly blowing to strectch my hair and the blow dryer doesn't get to 450, I think of the Sabino as a moisture sealant more than a heat protectant thus the need for the Iron Guard. Just my madness, perhaps.

the 450 degrees is what keeps me from buying it. I know my fine strands would melt away @ 450. Dose anyone actually use it with 450 heat?

Okay I did not know about the 450 DEGREE bit. Well that's it for me. It will not work for me, well not its intended purpose.

I never use heat that high! :nono:

Exactly! That is what has me a little nervous about using it as a heat protectant. I will not use 450 degrees of heat on my hair because I want my fine hair to actually revert eventually! :lachen:

Some ladies on here have used it with lower heat successfully, but I think I will use another heat protectant just in case...

Please, before you say you'll never use it, at least try it as a sealant after you put in your leave-in after a wash and DC, even if you don't use heat. It really does keep your hair feeling moisturized longer.

I know I am going to use it one of these days when i flat-iron but I am still iffy about using a 450 iron. i'll try it in one section at 450 and if there is no burnt hair smell then I will continue.

Oh, when I said I would use another heat protectant, I meant I would use one WITH sabino. I already purchased it, so I will use it to seal in my leave-in, apply another heat protectant (I have beyond straight so I'll probably use that), airdry, and then spray heat protectant on the next day after my hair is dried and right before I flat iron.

Hopefully my hair will have some swing to it after I use all of these products! I'll have to be sure to use just a little...

I put some one this morning before putting on my Caruso rollers. It turned out well. I am not sure if any serum could have worked, but I want to get some use out of my Sabino. I normally use oil before my Carusos, but I sealed with oil last night before I went to bed and did not want to use it again this morning.

I think the Sabino is decent, but no wonder product. I should have known, though. The ingredients are not really extraordinary or anything.

Fantasia IC is still going to be my favorite. (and its cheaper!)

I use my SMB with my Sedu...turned up to 410 degrees.

I've only straightened once this month and probably won't again, but I noticed when I use SMB my hair doesn't retain the heat. It's cool to touch. My NG get completely straight (9 months post) and it reverts fully as soon as I wash and DC....

I think it can be equally effective at 200 degrees, I just like having my hair straight at the first pass and it's great for reversion. :yep:

I have very thick hair though, so I don't necessarily recommend it for everyone.
