I use it as a pre-poo mixed with some moisturizing conditioner like CON ultra nourishing conditioner or mizani moisturefuse or kenra moisture conditioner and leave it on for about an hour with a plastic cap. This does wonders to reduce breakage.

I didn't realize it's a protein. I use blackstrap as a food and in my Vermont Cocktail. I eat/drink Blackstrap because of all the vitamins and minerals it has, including iron. It's like the bottom of the barrel when making molasses. You're right about regular molasses--it is mainly sugar.I just used it this weekend for the first time. I mixed a few other things in it as well. I let it sit on my head for about 45 minutes and then washed/condioned as usual.
I used black strap molasses (which is supposed to be better than regular molasses). I found it at the Whole Foods Supermarket by my house.

This works great in Cassia- I used Bigghairs method for the both times Ive used cassia. I think it adds extra moisturizing benefits.I have used it in my cassia mix.![]()
