I was in the Beauty Supply Store and saw a large section of hot oil treatments. When and why should you use it. My mom used to put them in my hair when I was a kid but I don't remember why.

I do them every so often because it feels like I'm doing something good for my hair. I know my hair isn't complaining about it. :)

I started doing them for extra moisture that I knew my hair needed when I first started on my healthy hair journey.

I do them as a pre-poo (using EVOO and Jojoba) once a week. I also do them directly after I give myself a heavy duty protein treatment service.

My hair is pretty moisturized now because of the moisture in my conditioners, shampoos, leave-ins and other moisturizing products. I'd like to stop (mainly the pre-poos) but, like Allandra said, they make me feel like I'm doing something good for my hair!

I used to use L'Oreal Oleocap as a pre-shampoo treatment. I would use it directly on my new growth, then sit with a heating cap for about 15-20 minutes, then shampoo. I only used hot oil treatments when I was about 7 or 8 weeks post touch-up.

I constantly hot oil treat my hair. I mix EVOO with my deep conditioner.

I love mixing my oil treatment with my (warm) conditioners. It's always a nice treat for my hair.

I do hot oil treatments weekly... but only because I have extremely dry hair and skin... especially in the winter. altho I probably do mine's different than most people. I take my oil and apply it liberally to my hair. I then put on my soft bonnet hair dryer and sit under it for about an hour.

I do mine weekly with my deep conditioning. I just use coconut and olive oil. My hair is dry and needs the oil boost regularly. They make my hair curlier and less frizz. :)

I do a deep conditioner and a hot oil treatment at the same time. I use LeKair Cholesterol Plus with Hot Six Oil once a week for 10-20 minutes. It leaves my hair moisturized and really soft; those are the benefits my hair reaps from doing this! :)
