If using grapeseed oil internally is so good for the hair, what about topically ... on the hair and/or scalp? I found a few posts about people using it. I'm wondering if anyone else is using it:

1. How do you using ... on the hair on the scalp or both?
2. Do you mix it with anything else?
3. What were the results of using this on your hair?

Hope someone responds, because I'm really curious!!!

Hi Ballet Bun

I include grapeseed oil in my spray bottle (along with Distilled water, EVOO, peppermint, rosemary & lavender oils). One of the assistants in Holland & Barrett advised me that as I was purchashing peppermint, lavender & rosewater oils I should use grapeseed as a base as these 3 oils used alone can irritate the scalp / skin.

I use it twice a day on the ends only. I have not used it on my scalp.

It leaves my ends so soft and it is helping me retain length as people (including my sister who I live with and see everyday & my hairdresser) have commented how long my hair is getting. But I think it is not only the grapeseed oil but the combination of all the ingredients in my bottle plus of course other things such as extending touch-ups, less heat etc etc.

I LOVE Grapeseed oil. I use it as a body lotion, on my hair, I mix it in my conditioners. I was just going to start a thread about mixing it in conditioners. It makes my conditioners more effective. I put it on my hair before relaxing or coloring (usually the night before). I use it on my face. It gives my hair and skin the perfect sheen. I have very dry skin and vegetable oils have been the only thing that has worked for my skin. I also mix it with olive oil, castor oil, MSM, safflower oil, and cocoa butter for a nice hairdress.

I had to drink grapeseed oil mixed w/ water to treat thrush when I was nursing and it was NASTY

I had to apply it diluted to my areola and it irritated like crazy. I can't imagine it getting into the pores of my scalp. Have anyone of you Ladies experienced irritation from using it?

1. How do you using ... on the hair on the scalp or both?

on the scalp, i use Qhemet Tea tree and grapeseed pomade for itchies
2. Do you mix it with anything else?

on the hair, i mix it with almond oil, infused with herbs and use it as a pre-poo
3. What were the results of using this on your hair?
goodbye itchy scalp and hello moisturized, nourished hair:lick:

Wow...I just bought grapeseed oil for the first time today! I was looking for a nice carrier oil for my lavender and rosemary EO scalp mix (hoping to help fill in my edges), anyway..I drop some on my thigh and rubbed it in...WHOA...Amazing....terrific oil! :drunk: I'm surprised more people aren't crazy over it like coconut oil.

I'm in conrows right now, so I can't speak on it as a sealent...just rubbed on my scalp with my EOs....but I can't wait to take these darn braids out and see! I bought the Aura Cacia brand from Whole Foods...perhaps it's just this is a really good brand...but this oil is my new ish

I use grapeseed oil as a base for my MoeGrow. I infuse it with horsetail, rosemary, and chammomile. Its a great scalp oil.
