I stopped by Sephora yesterday to pick up a PhytoRelaxer for my retouch.
The hair product specialist--seeing that I had my hair in a frizzy, poofy wash n' go--suggested that I move from an Index 1 to a 2 to combat my frizz and constant reversion issues without completely losing my curl pattern.
She qualified herself to be a longtime licensed hairstylist and had long beautiful hair to prove it. (I'm 6-1, so I can see the top of most women's heads.)
She added that I should prep/base my scalp with Finisheen (I still have some) oil so I won't burn and it will improve my hair's moisture level. I was surprised to hear that because I haven't had my scalp based with oil sheen since the 1990s! LOL!
So, does anyone still follows that practice? I want to try it, but I'm afraid that it would interfere with the straightening process. She assured me that it wouldn't.
Funny how I now trust LHCFers' judgment before a licensed stylist! LOL!
Thanks in advance,
