Give up the goods! Not a paste but an oily mixture. Amla powder is grainy, does that go away after being in the oil for awhile? I'm deciding on if I want to make my own oil for a prepoo or buy the Dabur but I know it has mineral oil in it.

How do you make yours? Measurements? Have you had the same success as those that use the Dabur?

Raising hand :D

I make my own amla oil. I mix 3 parts coconut oil with one part amla (Hesh brand).
I warm up the oil untill it becomes liquid, then I add the amla powder. I shake it all very well and let it sit for a day. That's it !!!:)

Me too. I use amla powder and coconut oil too.

...you can make an oil infusion by warming sesame or olive oil in a double boiler with the herbs for 4 hours. After 2 hours has passed, replace the spent herbs. After 4 hours, strain the infusion and preserve it with rosemary oil extract or T-50. -FNWL

I'm transitionning, so I use my amla oil often: to seal moisture, to add shine to my hair, to protect my ends...

I use it just like I would with any other oil, but I like the fact that it darkens my hair, so I use more right after shampooing :)

Ok cool. I just mixed up mine...1 part amla powder, 4 parts coconut oil. It's nice and dark and I'll let it sit for a while.

Is the amla powder supposed to sink to the bottom after sitting for a while? Mine does. :perplexed

Yeah, that's normal ;) . Just shake it well everytime you warm your oil before using it.
