Who Leaves The House In Rollers/Scarfs??

I heard someone say a while ago that when women wear their rollers out because they are going somewhere later, they don't realize that they are already somewhere.

I went to the drugstore this morning with my hair in black magentic rollers and one of those black triangle net scarves. If anyone had a problem with it... '*** 'em!:210:

Though I will admit that when I taught at the small liberal arts college, in that small lily-white town, I did refrain from wearing my rollers out due to the very real possibility I would run into one of my students (sometimes with their parents). But, that was just because I was so noticable as one of two black professors at the college.

I dont leave the house with rollers/ scarfs but when I'm on a plane I wrap my hair in a scarf. :ohwell: I just dont want my hair touching the back of the chair that everyone had been laying on. Anyone feeling me?

Growing up my mom never left the house in rollers (she had 4 kids), so I learned not to do so. For me it's not about what others think, but how I feel about myself. I like being put together, hair groomed, etc. it makes me happy and it's who I am.

I bring an extra, satin scarf to lay on the back of the plane seat (in case they don't clean the seats between flights) but usually not on my head while on the plane.
I do the same thing in a movie theater, placing the scarf on the back of the seat.

i don't mind going out in a scarf. i wear the long black ones that you can wrap into a bun in the back. i would only go in rollers if it's quick run.

I would rarely do the rollers in public. My son has to be at band practice at 5:45 in the morning. It's dark so I wear them when I drop him off and I stay in the car. So it's in public but not really. Nobody's looking because the other parents are half asleep too!

When I leave the house I imagine running into my worst enemy (my husband's ex) and that prompts me to step up my game!

To me that is ghettry(ghetto+country). I think matching your clothes to the scarf make it worse....sorry. When my head looks a mess I throw a baseball cap over it and bun my hair.

hmm never thought about that but now that I have more than 4 strands in the back, I will be doing it, lol.

Shoooooots I'll throw a scarf over a plastic cap or some rollers in a hot minute! I'm sure my hair looks better than all the would be haters who might see me at the CVS and say "ooh...she shouldn't have come out looking like THAT"! :lachen:

I'm sorry but I don't care what the circumstances are, I'm not going out of the house in rollers:nono:. It just ain't going to happen. I would have to have taken violently ill and have to be whisked to the hospital or something for me to step foot out of the house in rollers (even with a scarf). When I look into the mirror with rollers in, I see a martian and that alien ain't going nowhere. Scarves I don't mind. I've never worn them out but I've seen some ladies with stylish ones on.

MizzBrown, whatcha do? Did you take all those rollers out just to go to the corner store?

Did you put them back in when you got back home?

Nahh, I got lazy and stayed inside all day with rollers. :perplexed But if i really had to go then it was gonna be a wrap! Rollers and scarf, out the door. Only person out there to impress was if I rolled up on Jesus and I know he'd probably could care less.

Call me what you want, I will run out in a headscarf without a second thought. Rollers NO! I usually just use the rollers for the curl and take them out and pincurl and on goes the headscarf. I'm not jeopardizing my "do" for a quick run.

Maybe I missed it somewhere, but what does irk me is these girls/women who where hair bonnets in every color of the rainbow ANYWHERE like they're the hottest new fashion statement. I used to work at a courthouse in NJ, these girls would even come and stand before a judge with those things on their heads. I've seen them at the grocery store, nail shop, mall, you name it.

I will run out in whatever! It just depends on how I feel. If somebody wants to see it all cute so bad then let me pay me for my time to do it or my stylist. Sorry, but I'm not into trying to please people like that.

I do errands with a head scarf on often.

I would never go out in rollers, but only because I don't feel comfortable like that . Who cares about what everyone else thinks. Its my head.

I do wrap my hair when I fly too.

:lachen::lachen: I think I have a new word!!

I will never leave the apt in rollers (especially since I live around a lot of white ppl who go to my school), but I will roll out in a scarf with a hat on in a min if I have to run to the store for a second.

I don't like going to the store and there's some chick there in rollers and house slippers really SHOPPING. Not like a quick run in/ run out type deal, but shopping cart crusing the aisles type shopping. :nono:

I was at my son's football game yesterday, and one of the parents actually came to the game with a head full of grey rollers

i'm sorry sometimes you have to do what you have to do but i draw the line at plastic caps. if i have to go out w/ a cap i throw a wig or cap over it

My husband made me feel so bad that he spent 4 freagin' hours putting the ceiling fan in that I offered to go to Lowe's for more screws. I was sitting under the dryer. I did not take my rollers out (hair was still wet). It was the most mortifying 20 minutes of my life.:crying3:

I don't rollerset but I do go to the store with my scarf on my head. This is usually on my off day which is also my haircare day.

Well, I have two views on that. First, I would never leave the house for a long period of time with my rollers on, and yes, I do think they are tacky. However, it takes a long time to roll my hair just right, and when I do it and learn 10 mintue later that I have to go out for something (and trust me, it has to be an emergency!) then I just have to suck it up and do what it do. Am I wrong? I just spent 20 minute getting each crazy hair to lay down over the roller, and then I'm going to take it out because I'm afraid are going to look at me silly? No way! i have to suck it up, because I'm so damn pretty, people are going to look at me anyway.:lick:

Not knocking anyone..................and I say this with love...............But this is a PET PEAVE of mine!

a quick run, not getting out of the car....oookay, but at a restaurant thats a no no (again for me). Damn, my attachment broke, I need another let me run to the BSS......oookay, I need to go to the mall to look for some shoes for tonight is a no no.
I can deal with my hair being wrapped around, but absolutley not rollers nor a scarf. Its like wearing my pj out and about.

That's not my style either.

Never...ever...ever...in...life...ever!

My mother would come back from the dead to whoop my a$$ if I ever left the house in rollers! And nooooooooone except immediate family sees me in my headrag:nono: My father would never allow us outside with rollers or raggedy scarves...he would throw a fit if we tried!

Now I have been in the middle of a deep condition and slapped a fashionable silk scarf on my head...I keep decorated 'kerchief' type scarves available for just this thing, but if I sleep in it, it doesn't get worn outside the house!
