Who has seen great results from using MTG?

I bought some about 5 weeks ago. I've used it 3x per week for the last 3 of the 5 weeks, I can't say that it has made my hair grow, but what I can say is this; I had severe scalp irritation with crusting and pus and now it is all gone. :) :) :) :) :) :)

I haven't use it for the last 2 weeks because I got my hair pressed (a natural, I usually wear hair in a protective bun and wash every couple of days or so) and I didn't want to walk around for 2 weeks (which is how long my press and curl last) with that smell.

Yeah and my hoof rot is completely gone!

When I went to purchase mine the clerk at the equestrian store was like "your horse must be suffering from rain rot just like mine.." I was like "Uh YEAH THATS IT.... RAIN ROT" I didnt have the heart to tell her I was buying it for myself :lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen:

I have had good results. I cant give a figure on growth b/c I havent been very scientific about charting it. I can say for sure that it is at least a good "conditioner/moisturizer" and has left my hair soft and much more manageable. IMO it is definitely worth it for anyone who is interested to AT LEAST get the trial size. I am going to get out a ruler and start measuring and take pics so that I can provide actual numbers b/c I dont like to hype stuff up w/o some REAL figures.....

Have a break bewteen the last use of Mtg and your relaxer, you don't want a bad reaction from the sulfer and the relaxer.

Great thought, I hadn't considered that! I'm not due for another 2 months but I'll keep that in mind!

I use mtg daily as a leave in conditioner.I've experienced no ill effects, just alot of hair growth. It has thickened up my hair something fierce. I am happy with the results of this condiotioning oil. I just can't stop bragging about this product. Sorry for running my mouth!

The lady in the store said the same thing to me "yeah, I know, it's rain rot". She also sid that MTG is a bit grainy. Is it?

I too had constant itching. My scalp was irritated. MTG stopped the itching by 90%. It's thicker and longer.

There are little grains of sulfur in it. I noticed what looked like yellow dust on my scalp this morning...which I assume is sulfur residue. But no biggy...I just wiped it off.

I have seen great results so far. I currently have alot of new growth which I don't normally have at 2 months. I also notice that my new growth is very thick and wavy. I have pics in my album of my progress after using MTG for 2 weeks.

The first time I saw that residue in my hair, I was like   I thought my scalp was freakin out.

Yikes! Where did you hear/read that horses lost their hair, also. I am assuming that they dont want to give the ingredients out for fear it will be copied!!! The are certainly on to something if it is growing horse, and human hair.

I asked a colleague of my friend about MTG, since he's a horse owner. He said that he doesn't use it on his horses b/c he knows some people who did and their horses lost a lot of hair after doing so. He was kind enough to send me a copy of a thread from a horse forum where it was being discussed.

I just tried to post a link, directly to it, but, it's not working.

The name of the forum is HorseCity.com and the name of the thread is MTG Negatives.

I went to the site, however I cant see that anywhere. I put MTG Negatives in the search option, and there was nothing...Where is it posted exactly?? Sorry to be a pain. I want to read it.

That HorseCity site was a little confusing, but here's how I found it.

Go to www.horsecity.com, then on the left side under Navigation, click on the heading Bulletin Board Boulevard. Next, click on search (at the top, center). In that search box, type MTG Negatives, then in the 'Seach Forum' scroll box, click on Horse Health. Then do the search. That should bring up the comments from the horse owners.

Hope that helps. I don't know what to make of it...seems that overusage could be a problem. Everyone else seemed to love MTG. What I really want to do is ask that one owner if his/her horse had any preexisting conditions, but I guess that's a little much, so I'll let it go.

In one of the original threads on the MTG, the directions from the label were input:

Original M-T-G provides results after just one application. Results include quick relief for skin problems, visible hair growth in 5 days or less and mane/tail growth of up to 3 inches a month!

For Tail Growth:
1. Apply Original M-T-G to tail bone and lightly to length of tail.
Do not rinse or wash out. Wipe off excess Original M-T-G that may have come in contact w/coat.

2. Braid and bag tail (does this sound like the baggie method?!?!) in Shapley's Super Tail Bag for maximum results.

3. Once a week, check tail and reapply Original M-T-G . Does not need to be washed out between applications.

For Mane Growth:
1. Apply Original M-T-G along base of mane and massage in. Do not rinse or wash out. Wipe off excess Original M-T-G that may have gotten on neck under the mane.

2. Once a week, reapply Original M-T-G along base of mane. Does not need to be washed out between applications.

FOR MANE AND TAIL CONDITIONIONG, DETANGLING AND BURR REMOVAL:
1. Apply Original M-T-G through the name or tail and work in well. Leave on overnight and wash out the next day.

For easy and effective removal of Original M-T-G , wash out w/Shapleys HI Shine Shampoo.

CAUTION:

As a normal precaution for first time use, pretest unaffected area for sensitivity. Wash out any prior treatments before applying Original M-T-G. During use, keep animal out of intense sun to prevent sunburn.....Using Original M-T-G more frequently than recommended may result in adverse effect....If irritation occurs, discontinue use, wash out and consult a vet....Practically non toxic if swallowed. Do not induce vomiting. Call your doctor.

I've read numerous threads on horse care sites where users reported that there was no improvement seen or even worse, the condition worsened so this isn't a cure all, nor does it work the same for all. But then...what does?

If I find some of those threads...I'll edit this post to add them...

Were you using it once a week like instructed, everyday, or every other day?

This MTG is no joke! I started it on the 29th, I haven't measured but I know thicker fuller hair when I see it. I'm 3 months post relaxer so I have new growth but from my last wash but this is ridiculous.

I am using MTG, but I don't measure. I can tell you however that within the 2 weeks of using it I have alot less shredding.

I did see where there were some great reviews about MTG on Horsecity.com, as well as the negative ones. I hope that it will provide outstanding results for all who use it.

I'm still undecided about using it on myself, though. I know that it's still pretty early in the trial period for most LHCF users, but, it does sound like it's a great product for humans. Maybe, I'll join the MTG Challenge in the future.

Hey NewYorkgyrl:wave:

I use the MTG concoction (Sulfer8, Glovers, WGO, Dr. Miracles temple and nape gro balm, essential oils and carrier oils) every night before I go to my bed. I apply it to my scalp only and massage it in. I only wash my hair once a week which is Saturday so it stays on my scalp until my wash day.

I purchased my MTG from www.shapelys.com and when i opened the bottle I nearly threw up. The smell is horrible but hey. I used it for two days and finally gave up. I don't like my hair smelling like that so I threw it out. I'll stick with my own hair growing concotions..at least they smell good.

i will stop using this MTG cos im only like 2 months post relaxer and i cant manage my new growth. ive been using MTg for like 2 weeks, twice a week so ive only applied it four times. I cant manage my new growth anymore.....also, what will cover up the smell. stasofro? or essential oils? i have ylang ylang and lavender...

hmm...i just went to my bathroom to play with this stuff.
1 tsp of MTG
3 sprays of stasoffro
1 drop of lavender

i added a drop of ylang ylang but mine smells close to the smell of MTG so i didnt bother with it again. it smell like a strong perfume now......ill try this for a few weeks and see how it works out for me

I don't know if 3/4" is great but for me, I'm pleased! I've kinda got the routine worked out so I still do my CW but I don't apply the conditioner to my scalp like I would a shampoo, only to the hair and then I lightly reapply the MTG every other day or so.

This way my scalp is being moisturized by the water but not cleansed of the MTG by the conditioner. I poo once a week and start the process over again. No scalp irritation, itchies or anything to report.

I just passed Day 30 of the challenge.
