Who has NO LENGTH GOALS?

Laela

Sidestepping the "lynch mob"
Honestly, I don't have a length goal.. as in say, by December, it should be 10 inches long. I just want to grow it..

Who thinks like this??

I think EXACTLY like that. I just want my hair to be stronger. It has been abused in the past, so I am just seeking practical tips to grow it out healthy and strong in the future. I'll be cutting as it grows to get rid of the overprocessed hair

Me!!! I want longer hair, yes, but no set timeframe for when to have it. I'm taking MSM & eating healthy & exercising; that's the extent of my "working" toward longer hair. Right now, my hair is a few inches past shoulder length (when stretched). I'd like to get to bra-strap but it'll get there when it gets there. Who knows, by then I may be sick of it & just chop it all off??

My only real goal is for my hair to be one texture and one length. No shorter than cheek length when it's dry and shrunken. After that I won't be so frantic about fast hair growth. I do want it to be at least bra strap length when it's pressed one day. But I'm not concerned with how long it takes to get there.

Most of my hair is halfway to cheek length. But the part at the crown that broke off after my last touch-up has a looooong way to go.

Once the longer part reaches cheek/chin length I'm going to keep it at that length until the short part catches up.

iam a male and i dont want longer hair then i already got ive been growing my hair for 1 year now and its shoulder lengh but my hair has always grown this fast so of course ill have to cutt it.......just thought ill add that

I did want my hair to near-waist length, but found myself obsessing over was my hair growing. Right now I'm just glad it's really healthy. I am going to keep following my regular routine and if I happen to experience more growth then fine, no biggie. And as of now I'm more concerned with whether or not I'll have post-partum shedding in 4 months than with growing it.

I don't have a hair length goal. I want it to get thicker and healthier. I figure if its healthy, then it will eventually get longer.

I just want my hair long, okay. But even though i have a goal shoulder length. I just want my hair long.

I started my hair care regimine back in 2000. What has been my goal from then to now has been healthy hair. Length has not been an issue, healthy hair has.

My goal is to keep my hair in the best condition first. Since the health of my hair comes first, I'm forced to wear my hair in its natural state and I'm not able to see any length until I press it. So I'm thinking by fall/winter I can concentrate more on my length goal .

Although I have a length goal now and I'm pretty close to it, once I reach it my main concern will be to maintain it's health.

The more I look at Oprah's hair the less I'm obsessed with reaching my goal of shoulder length. I think her hair is soooo gorgeous!

hey laela,

i don't really have any length goals. i want my hair to be healthy and strong. i realize that if i reach that goal, then my hair will grow longer. i would like to see what my hair can accomplish, but my main focus is hair health.

so i just decided just to take care of what i have, stop looking in the mirror ever 15 mins and just take care of my hair.

I'm not sure whether my not having a length goal is just fear that I might not reach it! I hate to be disappointed. Instead, I'm giving myself 6 months to develop a sound regimen of hair care, handling and protective styles, finding the best products that suit my hair and maintaining a regular exercise, vitamin and H2O intake for optimal growth and health. I'm gradually instituting my program so that I can track and doucment results and make corrective actions if neccesary. Once I feel secure in my plans I think I will start to make some length goals!

Becoming obsessed with anything these days is so normal for me. I live in New York City, and with the ecomony being what it is here, no jobs, high rents, it is a wonder I have any hair at all!!...LOL
My hair is past my bra strap - I just need to keep it in my head now!
You think I need therapy?

I have length goals......My first goal is to regain the thickness of my hair. It was so thick when i was younger...I know this goal will take a while since all of the thin hair my grow out so this is a long term goal..
Short Term are
Shoulder length by December 2003
Bra strap length by Summer 2004
Waist length by December 2004

I never have length goals. My goal is to take care of my hair and make it as healthy as it can get and maintain it. I had started a thread called "Why long hair?" because I personally thought the health of ones hair is more important than the length, you know? I've seen long unhealthy hair many of times. What's the point of long hair if the actual hair isn't healthy and looking good?
