how many people do daily conditioning washes?

What's your rountine:
How do you style your hair afterwards?
When do you detangle and does alot of hair come out?

I cwc everyday in the spring/summer/fall as long as I'm not past 2 months touch up (then my hair is too tangled to comb everyday and I go to every 3 days with flat ironing and rollersetting). It does not tangle my hair to do cwc washes. In fact, it really helps with my tangles. I slather with v05 and then rinse and then condition with a conditioner (moisture moisture plus, l'oreal conditioners, cholesterols, just depends) and rinse and comb and pull pack in a ponytail until morning. cwc washes are one of the best tips I've received from this board. Very moisturizing.

I co was daily and I will still do it through the colder months. I use just about any moisturizing conditioner including VO5's, Clairol, Humecto etc. I do my washed about 8 in the evening so my hair will be partially dry by the morning. I put the conditioner on while in the shower and by the time I am finished bathing it has sat for about 10 minutes. I wash it out and detangle under the running water. I let my hair drip dry and apply S-curl and coconut oil from root to tips. I smooth my hair back into a ponytail mainly with my hands and a boar bristle brush to smooth my edges and tie a baggie around the ponytail. Since my hair isn't long enough yet I have been wearing assisted protective styles.

With conditioner washes my hair has remained healthy and vibrant with little to no breaking and shedding.

I love them!

Are you cold during the winter months? I've never tried to do daily rinses during winter (my hair has never been relaxed before, plus before I never would have considered water touching my hair everyday

) I just figured it'd be too cold and I get cold easily. But...hmm.....maybe I'll try this winter.

Well my hair is usually about 75% dry by the morning the only part that is wet is the ponytail and it is always hidden under something. Hats are always a good choice for winter if you get cold!

thanks ladies for your responses.....I should have asked this also, but are you natural, texturized, or relaxed?

I do them in the middle of the week when I'm not being lazy. If I wear my hair curly, I do it everyday until I decide to straighten it. I just recently texturized. Are you natural or relaxed? I saw your pictures and your hair looks very nice.

I am natural, and I do conditioner washes everyday but monday and friday. On monday and friday i do the works (shampoo, conditon, etc). I don't loose much hair, these days. Part of that is due to conditoner washes, and the other is due to detangling my hair a couple of times per week when wet. I used to just wash and go, and finger comb. My hair pattern has a tight coil, and would entagle itself, and I would have knots, and loose lots of hair. Now that i detangle alot, I rarely loose hair. Kenra moisturizing, cream of nature conditoner, and Aubreys island cream rinse are very detangling for my hair. I use my shower comb and comb my hair in sections while it has conditoner in it. I comb from tip to root, and it is great.

I'm relaxed....thanks so much

.... I've seen so much about co washes that I wanted to start putting them in my rountine...but now it's getting cold so i'm not sure how that will work...

You all have such great hair and great advice thanks again

I do conditioner washes 5 or 6 times a week and shampoo once a week with CON or Mane 'n' Tail, followed by a deep conditioner. I use Pantene Daily Defense and Suave conditioners, though I'm about to give up on Suave. I put the conditioner on in the beginning of the shower and at the end I detangle with my fingers. I use the Demnan brush only when I deep condition. I lose more hair than I like, but I think I'm just one of those who sheds a lot of hair in a day, so as long as my hair isn't visibly thinning, I'm not going to worry about it.

My hair is relaxed and I've been doing cw since April. The only time my hair gets shampoo is when I get a retouch at the salon. I use the VO5 conditioners and clarify occasionally with the VO5 Kiwi and Lime Clarifying Conditioner.
I usually wash at night before bed. I apply conditioner in the shower. Put on a shower cap, and bathe. Take off cap and rinse. I squeeze out excess water and wrap my hair in a towel to soak up more water. (I hate dripping.) I spray on my leave-in or moisturizer. With a wide-tooth comb I comb through, gently. As far as how many hairs I lose, I noticed after my last relaxer in Sept., I've been losing more hair. But I just attributed that to the fact that I may going through a shedding phase, because usually after a relaxer I lose about 5 or so hairs when I wash. After the leave-in or moisturizer I apply castor oil, or coconut oil if it's close to relaxer time, up to 12 to 14 weeks. My styling is kind of on the boring side. After the oil I just do a single plait in the back and pin up with a Good Hair Day pin (thanks Allandra). Tie it up and go to bed. I wear my "bun" out the way it is the next day. Works for me.

I have been doing the CO wash routine since May. I either use Lustrasilk, VO5 or whatever is laying around on dry hair, use some friction, then rinse out. I proceed to make a wet bun or rollerset. CO washing is the most important hair tip i got from the internet.

I really enjoy my condition washes, though I am still not clear on how many I should do per week and whether or not I should shampoo once, twice. I guess it simply depends on the individual. My hair is fine just doing the condition washes and doing a shampoo once a week, on the days of intense workouts or runs. I use Pantene R&N, but then I switch up sometimes and use Suave Humectant Cocunut or Mane N'Tail. The wonderful thing about being natural is that the washes are great for retaining moisture and my hair does not itch at all. I love using essential oils and mixing with distilled water. I experience no discomfort at all and my hair is continuing to grow nice and healthy. I am very pleased with my regimen...

What's a good hair day pin? how much growth have you noticed?

Daily.

I'm usually natural and wear my hair in a low afro puff or a curly puff achieved by braiding wet hair. I do conditioner washes on pressed hair sometimes also.

I usually do my co washes on Wednesday nights. When I detangle, I only lose a few hairs - maybe 5-15 (including those on the comb and those going down the drain). So, they work well for me.

I have relaxed hair and condition wash about 3-4 times a week, and add a little "Hot Six Oil", or "Africa's Best...Oil" in with the conditioner.

You are not natural any more? Please share how you care for your hair now. I am thinking of growing it out and then doing the texturiser too.

I have relaxed hair and I do conditioner only washes about once or twice a week. I shampoo once a week usually. I'm using Aussie Moist conditioner. Lately I haven't been seeing a lot of hair come out which is really exciting for me

I detangle with my fingers/shower comb in the shower. I let it dry straight down for awhile, add products, then put it up in a bun or braid (most often) to keep it out of the way and to let the products do their stuff

I tried the con wash thing for 3 days and HATED it. My poor scalp I couldnt stop scratching. Maybe I was doing something wrong cos so many people like them. My hair needs shampoo I think. For the last 6 weeks i have been washing my hair everyday -- it has never looked better and it is growing.

I was able to do this periodically over the summer, but only with 100% natural conditioners (Aubrey Organics). Whenever I used anything else (like cheapo conditioners), my scalp would itch hideously so it wasn't even worth the trouble. The downside is that Aubrey's is too costly to use like that, all the time. My hair was really moisturized though...

i was doing them in the summer before i wore braids and cornrows. i plan to continue through the winter. i think its great and my hair loves it. i have 8 inches of natural 4b hair.

I conditioner wash and then brush through my hair (conditioner still on ) with a denman brush and then rinse. I either wear in a braid out twist out or an afro puff
