Who believes in KISS?

I'm just wondering how many of us has a simple regimine (once to twice weekly) and still has results? Does anyone NOT co-wash daily, take tons of vitamins, and drown their hair with oil daily and still have healthy, growing hair? It seems that more manipulation and too much product can actually be a bit much. Am I alone in this thinking? :look: BTW, KISS means "keep it simple" for those of you that don't know.

I K.I.S.S.

I co-wash almost every day though, and I only use three products total.
CON purple condish, Neurtogena Anti residue (once every 10 days) and hempseed butter to moisturize... that's all.

I hardly ever deep condish or use protein. I keep my hair in a bun every day, and after 8 months of K.I.S.S. I have 6 inches of new growth.

Me! I probably have one of the simplest regimens here on the board. Wash, DC, and airdry once a week. Then leave it alone. I follow that same regimen whether my hair is loose, braided or weaved up.

Well, every week my hair get shampooed, followed by a conditioner I leave on my wet hair for about 5 minutes. Then I blowdry, slap on some Organics Carrot Oil Cream and a little Hot 6 oil on my hair and put some of that Pro-Line Hair Food on my scalp. Sometimes I skip the Carrot Oil and the Hair Food probably isn't the best thing to do since it is a 'grease'.

The only time my hair gets deep conditioned is at touchup time, which averages about once every 4 months. My recent trip to the BSS to find some LHCF recommended DC's came up empty :-(

I wear it pinned up with a hairclip most of the time. And it still grows. If I did half of the stuff I see many of the ladies here doing with their hair I think it would be too much.

I definitely believe in KISS.

I consider my regimen simple. I co-wash everyday. I have to cuz I workout just about everyday. I shampoo and DC only once a week and I just use coconut, castor or sweet almond oil on my hair. And of course HE Hello Hydration as a leave in. The only other thing is that I plan on getting a steamer and will probably do that every other week. That's it. My hair is healthy and strong.

My routine is very simple. I shampoo and deep condition once a week. I cowash the rest of the days. I always spray a mix of my moisturizing spray on my hair after rinsing my conditioner out. That's it.

once i get thru my products:

MY KISS will be:

1) Prepoo:
-WEN Tea Tree Oil / Amla Oil

2) Wash:
-Ayurvedic Rinse
-WEN Fig Cleasing Conditioner

3) DC:
-Aphogee 2 Minute Reconstructor / UBH DC (undecided)

4) Rollerset:
-WEN Fig Cleasing Conditioner & Styling Creme

invest in HairZings & Flexi8

does co-washing often count you out of the KISS club? :look: i still don't use a lot of products, and i take liquid vitamins for overall health, not just for hair.

well i'm calling myself a KISSer anyway :drunk:

exactly... I dont see how KISS would discount those who co-wash...

I co-wash daily... its no biggie, I do it daily when I wash the rest of my body... slap in some leave in moisturizer and snatch it back into a ponytail...

DC with Ayurvedic powders weekly

not much simpler than that

I KISS. I get braided up every sunday and leave them in during the week. I take them out Fri. to wash. Sat I cowash and go then start over the next day. My hair would be almost APL but to celebrate my 1 yr nappiversary I cut it to NL. :look:

I do.

I started with a KISS routine which worked, got caught up for years in products n techniques from this board, rather than sticking with simple products and a routine.

Now I'm back to

washing 1x per week
Deep conditioning
Using Mega tek on my scalp daily
Protective styling

That's it and it's all the better for it now.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I've been oiling my hair everyday, but I think that's just too much and it can weigh the hair down and possibly cause breakage. I wash and condition my hair once, maybe twice weekly and that's it. I just want to make sure that I'm not manipulating it too much so that it can grow out thick and thrive. :yep:

i think i'm a kisser. my regimen is as follows:

co-wash everyday with he ltr
use my redken smooth down detangling cream
Blended Beauty butter me up for moisturizer
bun or banana clip

once a week i shampoo and dc with proteing Aphogee 2min then i detangle with redken All Soft heavy cream

I do. Lately, I have been cw every day and pooing on Monday. I have been dc twice a week(one with steam the other without). The only things I apply to my hair are: a little co(this is my leave in, detangler, & moisturizer); and sealing with grapeseed oil.

I'm comfortable and happy with what I'm doing with my hair, so for me, the process is simple. I don't know if my routine would be simple for another sista, or even simple for me at another time - but right now, I'm definitely Keeping it Simple, Sista!

I don't like hassle, so no matter how fast I might want my hair to grow, nothing that is a hassle to me stays in my regimen for long.

Monday through Saturday:

Night: Poo, co-wash, add leave-in, sleep with a shower cap.
Morning: Take off shower cap and go.

Sunday: DC in shower. Put on Shower cap.

That's it.

Despite my many reviews I only keep 4 products at a time and use each one before I get another. :lachen:

My product list?

Co-wash
Poo
Leave-in
DC Base

I haven't used heat in 5 years!

I don't fiddle with protein treatments (though I add a bit of neutral protein filler to my DCs).

Don't protective style.

I take omega supplements for my face. I'm sure my hair benefits in some way.

KISS works.

I do

I wash in the mornings and deep condition. I then wet bun and go about my bidness.

I use ovation on my scalp.

If I want to rollerset, I will just wash condition and set it.

I cowash daily and that's about it. For the summer I'm even simplifying it even more. I've eliminated all products from my regimen. I''m thinking about just rinsing my hair every morning, add a scarf and be on my way...:look:

Co-wash once a week
Put hair in one style
Wear the style an entire week or two
Use aloe vera mix as styling aid
KISS is all I know!!!

I'm a true believer in KISS...I co-wash once a week and airdry in a low pony then wear a low pony or french braid during the week. I only use 2 products (Suave Tropical Coconut cond. and coconut oil).

Well... to be honest I see a lot of people using this or doing that and posting results that to me look like the regular sort of growth that should be expected over the few month's time anyway. So I don't get seduced by too many bandwagons, because I gain satisfactory length by keeping things simple. I wash once a week and sometimes just cowash if I feel like it, I try to moisturize every night (but often forget or don't bother) and I comb only when it's wet. I take a couple of B vitamins cause the doc said to.

I do not use fancy oils or mixes, I don't usually deep condition outside the shower (I just slap it on, let it sit while I finish my shower and rinse it out). I don't protective style on purpose--just when my hair isn't cute anymore or it's humid out. It gains length plenty fast enough for me, it recovers nicely from a lot of the issues I developed when I was trying the latest thing around here only to find my hair doesn't like it... so simple works very well for me and my hair.

I believe in KISS :)

I tried the complicated stuff when I first came to LHCF. Now I have an aversion to bandwagons :look: and even though my hair doesn't grow like a ChiPet, it's growing to the longest lengths it's been in my adult life so I'm happy :)

I forgot to add that by KIS, I shampoo weekly or every 10 days, DC, either blow dry and flat iron or air dry in a bun or roller set. That's it. And for those 7-10 days I finger comb my hair and tie up at night. That's it. I moisturize during the week as needed (especially since I'm transitioning), but that's about all. No other magic potions or notions. I may get into CW once I'm 100% natural, but for now it's not feasible for me to manipulate my transitioning hair that much.

I thought I was on the only one who noticed this.

I wash and DT once a week. For the last two months I've been bunning for the week or twists for a week. I've done wash and gos for the last 3-4 days using coconut oil and HE conditioner as the leave-in/styler...period. For twists, I apply coconut oil and allow my hair to air dry. Then twist with a little Qhemet Burdock Butter Cream on my hands. Every other day, I add a little Qhemet BRBC to my ends.
