Seriously though so you're loving the Curly Custard, eh? I know we have differnet hair types (I think you're more 3c or b and I'm mostly 4a) How does it compare to other "curl" products such as Jessicurl Rockin Ringlets or the Gelibration spray? What are the different affects on your hair?

I only used a little bit. The product is very water soluble so it spreads easily.

Ok ladies, I applied my new Kinky-Curly products on freshly washed hair this morning. I was in a bit of a hurry since I had a 9AM class to get to. I shampooed my new growth with Oyin's Grand Poo Bar and co-washed the lengths with DDTA. I squeezed the excess water out with my hands and applied first the Knot Today leave-in, kinda raking it through before combing with a wide toothed comb. I then applied the Jojoba Jelly in the same manner, but didn't comb through. Just for good measure, I applied a little Curling Custard. For my shake 'n go, I first flipped my head forward and back, then gently shook from side to side a couple of times to let it all fall into place. Amazingly, my hair wasn't dripping all over the place! Time was short, so I diffused my hair for only a few minutes, again flipping my head forward to help build volume. I was very pleased with the results. I mean, down with the frizz! Once my hair had dried, my curls were slightly more elongated than usual, and definitely more defined and separate. These products left my hair shiny and feeling very soft, with no greasy or sticky feel. And it was not nearly as time-consuming as applying Curve products. After some serious PJism, I do believe this is my HG product! So, as promised, pics of my Kinky-Curly results are posted in my Fotki. See link and password below and let me know what you think!

Hey girl!! I've never used Jessi's RR.. but I do like the Gelebration Spray alot.. that smell is heavenly..the Island one.. I'm not sure I have an answer to your question.. I think CC is easier to use..even though the Gelebration is a spray.. I would say I have less frizz for sure with the Knot Today/Curling Custard combo..and even thought I never do 2nd day hair because I CW everyday.. when I woke up this morning..I could have easily achieved 2nd day hair... not sure if I could do that with Gelebration..but I never tried.. Nothing besides Kinky-Curly products has enabled me to not have to wear a hat.. seriously, I had no scab hair frizz.. and that is amazing right there...

ETA: Oh yah, I even used Knot Today and CC on my son's 3b "caucasian" hair and it worked wonderfully too!!!! These are great products girls!!!!!

Oooh thanks for the insight! Do you think the Knot Today helped or would using any other detangler have given you the same great results?
Also, the ingredients aren't listed on Kinky Curly products, right?

Does anyone plan on using the Curling Custard without the other products they sell? The site says it's basically a combination of products, so if I ordered......initially, I'd probably just get that.

Hey CurlyCrly....Alas, there's been no email , unless I designated it be sent to my office, I'll check when I get to work. It's being shipped to my office so whenever I get it, I'll be trying it that evening. I will use give it a try and post pics that same evening/next morning.

I also gave in and ordered the Knot Today, that will come in a separate order, I got it from NC. Their shipping prices are much better than Shelley's.

I'll update when I hear something.

Don't be discouraged in the least, I think the reason I got that email was because I wanted to change my order and she was responding to that request. She did not specifically say that MY order was being shipped out but that "I am packing boxes as we "speak". If you wish to add something else to your order go ahead and order it and if you can not zero out the shipping charges, I will refund the shipping. Please just put a message in the PayPal box and I will know that you already ordered and you wont have to pay for shipping twice. I am shipping out tommorow but will wait to include your second product. "

Hopefully we'll see emails today that confirm our orders being shipped. I'm very much excited to try this...counting the hours till I can!

ahh man! I forgot about the Curl Mart on NC. I read the reviews of the product there and saw that it was in Curl Mart with shipping around $6. For some reason, I was thinking that I'd get it faster by directly ordering from Kinky-Curly. How does the Curl Mart work? Do gretchen and michelle have the products at their location?

I almost think they might be faster under normal circumstances right now...who knows?

KNOT TODAY: Contains extracts of wild cherry bark, slippery elm, marshmallow root, cetyl alcohol, stearalkonium chloride, dicetyldimonium chloride, red #33.
JOJOBA JELLY: Contains jojoba oil specially formulated in an aloe vera gel base, pectin, methylparaben, polyparaben.
CURLING CUSTARD: Botanical infusion of water, horsetail, chamomile, nettle and marshmallow, organic aloe vera juice, agave nectar extract, tocopheryl acetate (Vitamin E), pectin, citric acid, methylparaben, propylparaben, fragrance.

I got a message from Gretchen Saying she's been trying to contact Kinky-Curly re: when they are going to receive their mdse so they can ship their orders, as of earlier this afternoon, she had not received a response either.

Maybe she's just really busy? :\ I'll update if I hear anything. She told me that mine is shipping tomorrow but I was not provided w/a tracking number or anything. I don't know if that's SOP or not.
