I haven't received an email from her with an answer to my question though.
I asked if she plans to offer samples of the Jojoba Jelly.

I bet yours will ship out today too. Didn't she say she was waiting to pack your Knot Today sample or something? I think you told her that you ordered from NC and she thanked you for telling her. Why did she mention that about NC?

Thanks, I'm hopin so too! I was going to order the Knot Today from her but chose to do so from NC cause I ordered something else from them too. I was wondering why she made the comment about NC but chose not to inquire further.

I trimmed off some of my too straight ends in prep...I'm soooo ready to CURL like yours! :yep:

LOL! Wouldn't the products make your curls hang more and be wavy since it adds more weight?

My curls aren't as tight as they were last year. I let the layers grow out and now it's all even at shoulder length. As I did that, I loosened the curl more. We shall see how the Curling Custard affects my hair. If this product is as moisturizing and effective as I've been reading about, I may transition. I didn't make my own spritz cocktail for moisturization until after I texturized. If the Curling Custard works well for me, that would give me two products to use on my natural hair...theirs and my spritz that I use when I wear it curly.

When I was natural, I was using shea butter and other products people talked about and I did not like any of them for my hair. I tried mixing various concoctions with butters, oils, EO, herbs, etc....but, did not like them very much.

I didn't stay natural before because I didn't have a good product regimen. I didn't find out about conditioner washes until right before I came to LHCF. Someone told me about it, but I had already texturized by then. A friend of mine has been texturized for about 8 years or so and bought the book a long time ago, but I never looked into it because I was wearing my hair straight at the time. I'd forgotten all about it when I was natural.

It would be nice to be able to wash n' go (natural), which is my style of choice, without major shrinkage and dry looking/feeling hair.

You know, you're right, it probably will make my hair wavy more than curly but that's okay if there is some definition to the waves. Right now, it takes an act of congress to get it wavy and I don't want to work that hard every morning.

I too am thinking that if the Curly Custard work well about transitioning natural or at least not texturizing as much. I've tried some of the similar products on my hair and all it did was make it very heavy w/no definition whatsoever. Not to mention, they just sat on top of my hair and didn't provide much moisture at all.

So which book are you referring to dear? Inquiring minds need to know and tell us more about your customized spritz.....

I won't tell anyone else....promise! :look:

 The Curly Girl book..no big secret there.

I've mentioned the spritz cocktail before and I think I posted what I've used in it in my comments with my LHCF Gallery pictures. I just use water, veg. glycerin, african royale daily doctor, and infusium 23 leave-in (white bottle, green text). That's what I am using in some of the pictures in the LHCF gallery. My hair dries soft, non-sticky, and moisturized. I still get shrinkage though, but not as much as I did when I was natural....although, I did not start making it until I texturized, so perhaps I wouldn't have had as much shrinkage then either.

Using the spritz, I usually was able to just use a little water the following day to rejuvinate my curls if my hair didn't feel particularly dry. Otherwise, I'd spritz it again with the cocktail. I did the same for the third day. I didn't like going any longer than that without combing due to potential tangling.

Great, thanks for posting! (Sorry for the redundancy!).

Guess what I had in my email-box when I got to work this mo'nin'!! :trampolin :woot: :weird:

What?! You didn't get yours? I thought for sure that you would have them too. Maybe Monday. :)

I tried it yesterday and it left my hair shiny and very soft.
I used too much though. You don't need a lot at all.
It goes on very easily and it is not very thick, so I didn't know how much to use. As it dried, my hair was drying hard and I had to seperate them. I did that and the curls stayed anyway. Since I washed so late in the day, my hair did not completely dry by the time I went to bed, but I put on a bonnet and went to bed anyway. I was tired. At least I got an idea of what to expect next time.

So far, I'm thinking that this is a keeper for me and I am definitely leaning towards transitioning, especially since I picked up the MTG yesterday. :yay: I am going to continue my search for a wig so that I can do the MTG and transition without having to style my hair too much this summer. Transitioning wouldn't be a big deal if I wear it curly, but if I'm going to be using the MTG, I'd want to just put it on and plait my hair up....then throw on a wig. I may try the plastic cap like someone else mentioned, but I think that will be too hot for me.

What is MTG??

It's for horses, but people on here have been using it on their scalp/hair. Some have said it has increased their rate of growth.
The only problem is, it smells....like bacon, mesquite, bar-b-que.....

I got mine at a local feed store.
