Okay, so after reading the threads @ work, I left early and went to the BSS... THEY HAD SOOOOO MANY DIFFERENT PRODUCTS!!! I was so confused after wondering around for 45 minutes and leaving empty handed. ( I know the asian couple was cussin me OUT!!!)

Anyway, What can you ladies co-sign on that does your hair good? I saw products by:

1.TCB products
2.Dudley
3.Elasta QP
4.Olive Oil by Organics
5.Doo Gro
6.Smooth & Shine products...
7.MIZANI PRODUCTS
8.KeraCare
9.Motions (the only heat protectant i saw there)

Can anyone help me? I don't wanna be a product junkie, I have 3 children under age 4 and can NOT waste money on junk!

Thanks!!!

Hey Krikit!

Please check my fotki (password in profile), under the "About Me" section, for a complete listing of my staple products. All of them are inexpensive and can be found at Walmart, Sally's, Target or BSS (Beauty Supply Store).

Out of the product lines you listed I like KeraCare and Mizani products, the majority of products from these two lines work very well for me.

Your hair, your choice, unfortunately experimentation and your hair's response are the only way to find your "cure". Good luck on the journey and journey....that it is!

Mizani...no doubt. Worth every penny...a mainstay, IMHO. Motions...good cheapo stuff....I use this as well and often. Heard good stuff about Keracare. As for the rest, nada for me unless at almost giveaway prices.

I've used most of those lines.

I like these two lines!

Elasta QP - shampoo for relaxed hair, creme conditioning shampoo, bodyifying shampoo,DPR-11, breakage control serum, Htwo leave in, recovery moisturizer, mango butter

Organics by Africa's Best - Hair Mayo, Olive oil Hair mayo, liquid (leave in) mayo, any of the oils

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
These are okay...
Keracare - Is not excellent on MY hair, but other people like it a lot and it does wonders for them. It's just okay on my hair.
Humecto Conditioner, Leave in conditioner, Oil sheen
Motions - Same as keracare. The relaxer (the regular one and the one with oil) is HORRIBLE.
Silk Protein conditioner, CPR conditioner, Lavish Shampoo, Nourish Leave in
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Other BSS brands...

Organic Root Stimulator - relaxer, hair mayo, olive oil hair lotion

Aphogee - 2 step treatment, 2 minute reconstructor, leave in conditioner, keratin green tea restructurizer

Fantasia IC - reconstructor, leave in, gels, serums - great for heat protection

Hollywood beauty - OLIVE CHOLESTEROL (very good and cheap!), carrot creme, olive oil cream, oils

Cream of nature - detangling shampoo and nourishing conditioner (the packaging was changed, so check those labels to make sure it's the same good products I'm used to)

Suave conditioners, V05 conditioners, Miss Key's 10 en 1, Lustrasilk Cholesterols, Lekair Cholesterols, Mane and Tail Conditioners, profective leave in/moisturizers and oils, s-curl

That's just stuff I'm familiar with and would reccomend. I don't think that you could make a horrible choice with anything I mentioned :)

What about Queen Helene products?

I've a stash of so many things, Queen Helene, ELASTA QP amongst them. I use expensive{ALTER EGO} and low dollar products{LE KAIR, QH, etc.}..depends on the mood and the need. QH works fine..I use the cholesterol all the time!

It seems like KeraCare and Mizani are the high end products, but boy are they expensive!
So many people on another thread felt like Motions was some crizap! Anyone tried DooGro?

ORS olive oil creme is a good moisturizer, I been using it for at least a year, and can never have enough. Im not sure about the Organics brand-Never used that brand, just ORS.
Im having a love/hate w/QP Mango butter, but when it wanna act right, it good and smells heavenly.
Now Mizani is the *ish, from the relaxer to the conditioners. The Thermasmooth Conditioner is excellent, smells good, have leave the NG super soft.
KeraCare I love the leave in conditioner, is just the right contingency for me, not to thick or water, and detangles greatly, and smells good too.
Motions is cool, I used the neutralzing moisturizing shampoo and the Silk Protein Conditioner, leaves hair very moisturizing.

From your list these are the items I have used. With those items you have listed, you on the right track.

Thank you all! I wish i could afford Mizani... Kera Care looks like it's a little less expensive, but I think Motions has done alright by me before. I guess nobody has ever tried DooGro? I've asked that question a few times and have never gotten a response! That's actually kinda funny to me! That Mango Butter by QP DOES smell savory...
Y'all feel free to keep adding to the lists of things you've tried! I am gonna grow my hair if it's the last think i DO!!!

I like to use Elasta QP's Mango Butter to seal in my leave-in conditioner after I DC. I don't use it regularly though because the smell is a little on the strong side for me.

From your list:

Elasta QP-- Their Creme Conditioning Shampoo and Intense Conditioner are in my staple lineup. They work really well and when you factor in the price, they can't be beat. I am one that the Mango Butter works well for also.

Keracare--Hydrating Detangling Shampoo and Humecto Conditioner are also in my staple lineup (Nexxus Therapee Shampoo and Humectress Conditioner round out my staples). I have used the Humecto bottle and tub. The consensus around here is that the tub works better. The bottle is thinner but they both work the same (really well) for me.
