Which Oils Work the Best on Your Tresses?????

Re: Which Oils Work the Best on Your Tresses?????

I really like that oil too, Sherry. It's light, absorbs well, and smells good.

For my mixing into my pretreatments or deep conditioners, I like olive, castor, and almond oils /images/graemlins/up.gif

For post-styling application, I like Wild Growth Oil and the Parnevu stuff. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

My hair really loves the shea butter oil made by Mega care. The main ingredient is shea butter oil but they added other oils to it such as canola, cottonseed, and safflower. I get compliments on how my hair smells after i use it.

I have that oil too. It does smell really good! I add some to my moisturizer. I was thinking of oiling my scalp with it lightly since I just got a touch up yesterday. The ingredients are all natural too. Not bad for something $1.99.

Unrefined coconut oil, definitely! /images/graemlins/grin.gif I use it for everything. At night, I mist my hair with water and put a little coconut oil in it to keep it moisturized. I use it as a pre-treatment before I clarify my hair. I use it as a post-treatment when I clarify my hair. *g* I use it to rescue my hair when some experiment goes awry. And since I seem to have my best hair days when I use coconut oil as a pre-wash, I think I'll start doing that more often.

Can ya tell I'm a fan of coconut oil? /images/graemlins/rofl.gif

I like using EVOO, but after hearing all the other benefits of using with other oils I think I'm going to have to play mad scientist for a while until I come up with a better oil concotion /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I found that using Hot 6 Oil works for my scalp...it's better than the Doo Gro Anti Itch (green) oil. Didn't contribute to flaking and yucky residue like the Doo Gro did. Ran out of Hot 6 so I recently bought the Surge Motion 9 oil and mixed it with Hollywood olive oil...it's okay so far... /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I use Healthier Hair in a Bottle! Oil Spray, which was developed by Carolyn Gray. It contains Coconut Oil, Jojoba Oil, Sesame Oil, Olive Oil, Apricot Kernal Oil, Avocado Oil, Castor Oil, Rosemary Oil, Cederwood Oil, Ylang Ylang, Lavendar Oil, Clary Sage, Vitamin E, Vegetable Glycerine, d-Panthenol, and Tangerine Oil.

Long list, but it really works!

Coconut oil is my latest love. I would consider going back to Proclaim 7 Oil sometime in the future though.

-Virgin Oil De Coco-Creme, a virgin coconut oil another member recommended to me once. It smells wonderful and you can purchase if from natureswildchild.com.

-Jamaican Mango & Lime Cactus Oil. I LOVE this stuff. I posted the ingredients in this thread: Happy Hair

Jojoba, Olive, Carrot, and Aloe Vera Oils mixed together.

Now that I have ran out of my oil mixture, I now use Hot Six Oil. I love the smell and my hair loves it.

I also use Wild Growth Oil... stinky smell but it protects my hair from breaking! :)

Kemi Oyl seems to work pretty good in my hair, esp my wet hair...its just soo darn expensive. But a little goes a long way.

I like Wild Growth Oil, but then I've never tried anything else to be able to compare.

i have recently added rose hip seed oil to my oil formulations for hair and scalp..i really love it for the ends of my hair...

I've tried many, the only oils that work perfectly for my hair are:
1. essential fatty acids oil concentrate (aphogee makes it & nexxus' version is botanic oil)
2. pure coconut oil

The Essential Fatty Acids is the best because it really softens my hair & leaves it with a perfect, greaseless shine. ;-)

I like Jojoba oil and olive oil to. I also like to use the lavender oil mix with water in spray bottle to mist my hair in the morning.

I have used oil blends {Hot 6, Africa's Best, Surge Lotion Motion #9, and some other cheap oil blend} and Wal-Mart's castor oil. The Africa's Best Ultimate Herbal Oil eventually broke my skin out. I've used Wild Growth Hair oil back in the day also...I hated the way it smelled. I had a sample of Healthier Hair in a Bottle-it was nice and it made my hair shiny {used it on pressed hair} but the smell wasn't pleasant...it's also very expensive. Nothing compares to the Virgin Oil de Coco Creme that I've been using since October; I won't use anything else. It works wonders when pressing my hair. I occasionally use Dabur Vatika Oil {thanks Erica78 ;)} which has a coconut oil base for pre-treatments and it gets the job done as well.

I do too. I especially like the pump spray for my daughter, it makes it easy for her to use without spilling it everywhere.
