I really need help. I'm in the midst of a busy summer and school is coming back soon. I would like to get individual braids to save time. I have worn braids in the past but I didn't take good care of my hair at all when I had them. But now I'm committed to good hair health even when the braids are in. My question is, which type of hair will be most healthy for my hair? I tried my best to find the answer to this question by searching the forum and found nothing, so I would truly appreciate any suggestions you have. Also, are there particular brands you recommend? I didn't pay attention to this issue in the past when I had braids. Thanks so much for your help!

I really like the new hair called "Rast Afri" which is Kanekalon (synthetic). I found it at a beauty supply in Long Beach, California and in Carson, California but I'm not sure if it's available nation-wide yet.

I braided my daughter's hair and it was supple and dipped in hot water beautifully.

Thanks very much for your help, ctsks. I live in Baltimore and will make sure to be on the lookout for it. In braiding your daughter's hair, do you feel that synthetic hair is better?

Also, if there are any others who have suggestions or thoughts on this matter, I would greatly appreciate it!!!!
