Hey I just wanted to know if there were alot of natural sisters on here that could relate to me. I wanted some input on your regimens and if you use any heat on your hair and if you do do you still have healthy hair growth.

Also does anyone know any good curly hair pudding for natural hair?

Help please I need some inspiration and motivation

Welcome!

I wash (conditioner wash) whenever I feel like it, lol. It's about 3 days a week for the cold months. I use a diffuser/dryer frequently and haven't experienced any problems so far. I only comb/detangle with conditioner in the shower. Oh and I use Fantasia IC Gel for styling.

I conditioner wash my hair every night, and rinse it every morning. I've cut down combing my hair to once, sometimes twice a week and only do so when it's full of conditioner and in the shower. At night after washing, I apply jojoba oil then tie it up. In the morning after rinsing, I apply a leave in by Dove and a curl lotion by Dove as well. I don't use any gels mainly because they always leave my hair dry and stiff.

welcome

i really dont wanna post all that jus wanted to say welcome and i am natural :)

i can note that i made my own curly pudding with fantashia IC gel, cocoa butter, shea butter, and a bit of beeswax

I wash my hair every 3 days, I only comb with conditioner in my hair to detangle. I stopped using my diffuser - I've come to the conclusion my hair just does not like heat whatsoever. I am trying to use up products right now...so far some blended beauty and curls items. I am also using Aveda curls..but my HG is Jamaican Mango and Lime locking gel. It makes my curls frizz free and elongates them.

Hi!

I'm natural. I wash and deep condition my hair two or three times a week. I use water to moisture and natural oils and butters. I'm a huge fan or hemp seed oil and butter.

There are a lot of good recipes for curly pudding and other curly concoctions on the hair recipe board.

I wash with shampoo every 2-3 days. detangle my hair in 4 sections while the conditioner is in it. when my hair is about half way air dried, I add my leave ins (aveda be curly and wild growth oil) then brush it into a puff. Tie my hair down with a satin scarf and I'm good to go.

I do use heat to deep condition. I don't straighten my hair often out of sheer laziness, but when I do it's loaded up with a silicone based heat protectant.

For my hair type, curly pudding does nothing and the smell gives me a headache. For definition I used Fantasia IC for colored hair (blue kind).

Welcome!

I con wash pretty much every day, and clarify when necessary. I typically wear my hair in a bun. I protect my ends with wildgrowth oil.

I'm natural! My regimen is fairly simple. When I'm not in protective styles I usually just wash and go. Sometimes I wear a half wig or phony pony. I wash once a week and DC when in protective styles. When my hair is loose I wash every 2-3 days and DC once a week. The blue Fantasia gel with sparklelites is comparable to the curly pudding.

welcome from another natural. I usually wear twists so I wash every other week. I do use heat, I always blowdry my hair before twisting and use my maxiglide when I want to wear my hair straight. No I have not had any adverse effects from using heat, my hair is healthy and has grown a lot since my BC. I deep condition twice a month before retwisting. Tried curly pudding but I didn't really like it, I prefer to use fantasia IC gel for definition on my wash n gos.

hey, welcome! :D

i normally do conditioner washes every couple of days or so for 2 weeks. then i have a big wash day, where i wash/deep condition/detangle/rinse. i usually wash and go, and i'm a big fan of Wild Growth Hair Oil, it's a great product for locking in moisture. right now i'm on this Hide Your Hair challenge until May... i'm doing the baggie method. so i'm leaving conditioning products on my hair all the time, and i wash twice a week (because i work out a lot... my hair gets kinda grody otherwise).

i press occasionally... i deep condition and i'm always sure to use plenty of heat protectant spray. i don't blowdry to avoid using too much heat... i let my hair airdry in braids and then press.

Natural checking in. I dont' really use much. Aveda's Be Curly line right now b/c I am just very lazy. I found some Curl Junkie leave-in conditioner under my cabinet so I am using that up.

Hello and welcome!

I'm a 4 something natural. I wash once a week with CON green bottle, tea tree oil shampoo and either pantene relaxed and natural conditioner or redken all soft heavy cream conditioner. I detangle using paul mitchell the detangler and castor oil. I only comb when the hair is wet and full of something (diluted infusium 23 brown bottle). I apply cantu shea butter leave in (its is cheap) mixed with castor and shea butter oil every night to moisturized. I am VERY tenderheaded, so I try to limit manipulation.

hello,

I usually wear twists so I wash every other week. I usually do the banding technique before I twist. My hair is healthy and has grown a lot since my BC. I used to wash/condition often in the beginning ,but now I deep condition twice a month before retwisting. i have alot of pics of my 3 yr growth in my fotki.

Just wanted to say hi:wave: . I am currently experiently with conditioner washes every other day for moisture. I'm going to have to check out the Fantasia gel since several of you 4A/Bs use it for your wash and gos . I signed up for the Crown & Glory challenge so I will have braids until September. Since my BC, I've been wearing half-wigs.

welcome fellow natural!!
My regimen is also simple. I keep from having to comb my hair my keeping in in braids/braidouts all the time.
I DC 2x per week both times without shampoo
I moisturize daily with ORS olive oil or Jamaican Mango and lime spray
I am also on the Crown and Glory method so I will be putting in braids in another two weeks
hth!!!

Hello and welcome aboard...

I wash and deep condition once or twice a week. I'm currently using aveda shampoo and deep conditioner, and using healthy hair milk by CD for moisture and seal with an oil. For curl definition, I either use fantasia IC gel or noodle head curl creme when wearing a wash n go.

Welcome to the forum. :)

I'm a natural.

I wash and condition every M/W/F

I use leave in conditioner, and comb my hair when it's straight...in the shower...never when it's dry.

I use amla / almond / and sometimes other oils.

I use my own MTG mixture.

I henna once a month.

Well, that's cut and dry.

Welcome!

I wash once a week with Shampoo and then condition.

I condition wash as needed.

I use flaxseed gel and sheabutter to twist my hair.

Another natural checking in! My day to day consist of just listening to my hair. I recently stopped using products with glycerine because it dried my hair out. I've been using Cantu for my twists and things are fine. I think it's important to do what your hair tells you. If washing too much makes it dry, then don't wash as often, or, if not washing often causes dryness, then so on and so forth. I've learned that moisture, light protein treatments and low manipulation helps my hair thrive.

Welcome! I'm not 100% natural yet but can I chime in? :p

During the warmer months I co-wash 2 or 3 times a week, moisturize while my hair is damp and seal with an oil.

During the cold winter months I wash (with poo) and deep condition once a week, moisturize damp hair and seal with oil.

I'm in the middle of changing products.

I wash my hair once a week (poo or conditionning wash)
I only comb my hair when its full of conditioner

I use heat durind a period every 3 or 4 months
I sleep in silk scarves
I moisturise when needed every other day......
