I know that some people keep there's in the "fridge". Where's the best place to keep it. I have a 4lbs. tub of Affirm.

I keep mine in my hall closet with the rest of my hair products. I use to keep my no lye in the fridge, but I don't think you have to with lye relaxers.

Hi Jellynote

...thanks for responding! Just out of curiousity, why do no-lye relaxers need to be stored in the "fridge", and not lye relaxers.

Hey, I never stored my no lye relaxers in the fridge. I never even knew you had to do that. I always kept mine it closet too with the rest of my hair products.

In a cool dark closet. But just remember the older it is the less effective it is. That goes for old and new jars. If it came from the factory three or four years it won't work as well as a jar that came out 1 month ago.

Dont do relaxers anymore...but I was at a girlfriends house...went in her fridge to get something to drink...and there was the tub of relaxer...with a date written on it in a sharpie pen...

She said she uses the relaxer out of the box...and what she doesnt use she keeps in the same tub it came in and puts in the fridge...she writes the date of the last use on it...just to make sure it is not too old when she uses it again...

I now keep my conditioners that way...the cholesterol ones any way.

I've heard the best place to store it longterm is in the frig. I would scoop out what I need per touch up and leave it out to get it to room temp before use though. Otherwise, it might take longer to break down on your hair.

With small children in my home I store it locked up in a cabinet. When it becomes less effective I'll just have to throw it away.

I hope no one is storing no-lye relaxers after they've been mixed. It should be thrown away once activated.

Yep, that's what the instructions say. I use a lye relaxer and I store it in a cabinet my bathroom.
