Where can I donate hair products?

I have a box full of hair products that I would like to donate to someone in need. I was thinking about a women's shelter or homeless shelter. Does anyone know of a place that accepts previously opened hair products? BTW, I live in Maryland. Thanks!

I work in a shelter in Massachusetts, and I know generally items like hair products that are opened are not accepted for safety reasons. I don’t have that problem because I work in the shelter, and if I bring something in, the women know it’s trust worthy. So, if you perhaps know someone that works in a shelter, she or he can take your items in for you? Or, if you attend a house of worship, donations can be bought there as well. I also know some churches that work with homeless people through street outreach take donations from individuals, and distribute them for you.

However, because donation polices in Maryland may be different, you may try to contact individual shelters and ask about their polices. I searched the HUD website, and locations for shelters can be found here: http://www.dhr.state.md.us/transit/homelist.pdf

HTH!!!! :)

Thank you so much for the info! A friend just told me about Martha's Table and I'm going to call them tomorrow.

Excellent!!! :) :) :) Many of the women in our shelter can’t afford good hair care products. If your donation is accepted, I know the ladies at Martha’s Table will really appreciate them!!!
