This post and all the other posts about type 4 natural hair and growing it long are the reason why I suggested in the Suggestion topic a while ago that I'd like to see more Type 4 Features of the Month. Most appear to be type 3. There are a lot of type 4 naturals on this site.

Maestra how fast do you think your hair grows per month?

[/ QUOTE ]

Based on my regimen now, I would have to say that I retain up to half an inch per month, sometimes slightly less than that.

Your hair is soooooooo cute, it makes me want to go natural, I especially love the ones where your husband says you look like the cartoon character. Where you always natural?

These were some nice examples of 4a natural hair. Very pretty. What do you guys consider long when it comes to natural hair? DO you mean hair that is around bra strap once it is straightened or hair that is to bra strap when it is still tightly curled? Also, are you considering hair that is slightly texturized to be natural?

DEN1...girl, thats some good hair!

I consider long hair shoulder length or beyond when stretched...I dont really consider texturizing to be natural...its still using chemicals.

I used to have natural hair (the old photos from last year are all natural, from Dec 2003 I texturised (chemical processing).

I think my hair qualifies as long (though when I look at it all I se are the things that need work) I press it. But no chemicals. I WISH I could relax, but I finally, finally, got the message that my hair is not strong enough to GROW and be RELAXED.I relaxed since 8th grade and always had hair that was ear-length or shorter. My "stylist" said that it was me using the curling iron every day. She left out the part that it was MOSTLY due to the fact that I was perming every 3-4 weeks, sometime from root to end it I wanted "extra-bounce" (can you believe she would do that to me?) I was so un-happy and I truly never thought of NOT relaxing. I had to weave in order to break the cycle--but that's another story.

I just want to say that all of you ladies are all beutiful natural inspirations!!! Not only am I bookmarking sites but I am also adding this thread to my favorites.

I consider my self a stuggling natural. My hair may be growing but I am so impatient and it is so slow.

I just want to know how long did it take you ladies to get to shoulder length or even farther?

Keep up the great work and God Bless!!!

I love seeing natural hair, all the ablums r really beautiful, my hair is pass shoulders, but nothing like the hair I have seen

, Sometimes I just want to cut it an start over, because my hair is not as healthy or thick as other naturals that I have seen her or on the nappy site,

henrilou, you are my hair goal! lol. How often do you get your hair pressed? Who said that you cant have pressed healthy natural hair!
