the hair?

Do you donate it to a non profit org or do you keep it for yourself, or trash it

Hey Abenyo! I did the BC in 2004, knew nothing about the boards or even what "BC" was...but I just threw it away. It was just SL and I BC to above the ear and shaved in the back. I never would have thought to donate it..it wasn't enough.

Hey chiika, I was never above SL either, and like you never thought about donating it since I always went to the salon. However it seems like most of the ladies on here are doing it themselves...

With alot of people losing their hair for some reason, it might be beneficial for us ladies to start thinking about donating them to charity after the BC.

I have mine. It something special for me and I need to keep it for moments when I am weak and want to perm again....I have it braided up and will put it in my hair journal...its a gorgeous braid too, dont know it wouldn't do that when it was connected to my head!

I trashed it... I don't think processed hair can be donated anyway.

I trashed it. And reading the above post makes me feel better because after I saw this thread I started thinking, "Aw man, I could have donated my hair."

Thank you girlie! I need that!

From what I"ve heard it has to be non-processed hair of at least 9 inches in order to donate. My bc'd tressess wouldn't be enough to keep an ant warm...in the summer.

I put it in a freezer bag and took a picture of it, which I entitled "bye hair":

That was two years ago. At some point I threw it away. But I'll keep the picture.

I never did a BC but I wonder about not being able to donate processed hair. For companies like lock-of-love, they are in very short supply of black hair....and since many women hair relaxed hair, that means finding long, healthy, natural, black hair is slim to none....they should take relaxd hair too...

ETA: I went on the LOL site and you can give pocessed hair and even hair that you have kept for a while as long as it is in a ponytail and 10 inches. I would consider growing my natural hair to give! I have to think about it

And now look at your hair now...longer than before!

You are a great inspiration, Cichele!
