When did the Moisturefuse Formula Change?

Supergirl

With Love & Silk
I'm alittle disappointed. I received a bottle of MF today that I'd ordered online because my hair did really well with it back in the day. It used to have ingredients such as wheat germ oil, rosemary, and even a smidge of hydrolyzed human hair keratin. The one I got today has NONE of this. I'm afraid it won't work as well. I mean my hair really thrived on this stuff.

If you have an old bottle or know when they did this, let me know.

Bless Ya and Thanks

Thanks for posting Sassy. The one that Pebbles lists is the old formula. The one that Mirror Mirror lists is the one I got today from Discount Beauty. I wonder what's going on... Do you think it's just a mis-labeled one? I have the same one you have from Discount Beauty--the 32oz.

Oh no!! first Lanza shampoo and now my beloved Moisturefuse!! Don't tell me I have to do a mini stocking up of this as well?! /images/graemlins/mad.gif /images/graemlins/frown.gif

Well, now I am wondering if something "fishy" is going on here. I mean I have never known Mizani products to come in this light, golden colored packaging anyway...EXCEPT in one of the Asian beauty supplies (where they're not supposed to be selling these products anyway)

Now, I live near Discount Beauty and have been there. At that time, they had the packaging that we're all used to. I wonder who I could call at Mizani.

I never tried the version with nettles, sage and rosemary... I'm jealous! But this version still rates as my #1 favorite moisturizing conditioner.

Sassy,

I appreciate you letting me know that it's still good stuff, 'cause I'm over here thinking too hard, wondering if I got a counterfeit product and it I shouldn't even let it touch my head. It smells and looks like the real deal though and you confirmed for me. I'll give it a go this weekend as I'd planned.

You're a gem...I'm chillin' now /images/graemlins/beach.gif

Sassgirl, I didn't realize that you and I were using two different moisturefuses!!

I'm going to have to do some investigating I think and see where there is more of the version that I have. Geez, enough stockpiling already... /images/graemlins/ohwell.gif

That's wild! I love love love this conditioner, but I can see why you wouldn't want to switch from something that is working for you. Especially when the manufacturer is forcing you. /images/graemlins/mad.gif
Now you know my pj alter ego is going to force me to try and track down the other version. /images/graemlins/laugh.gif
For comparison purposes only! I promise--it's purely scientific... /images/graemlins/pinocchio.gif

LOLOLOL! yeah right.

Let me know if you do find the other version. I hate this changing formula crap. Its really getting very annoying now.

Oh well, another product to go find before its going going gone /images/graemlins/ohwell.gif

Okay,

I called JCPenney's Salon and asked the lady who answered to read the ingredients to me over the phone. It's the same formula I have--guess I don't have a counterfeit.

I know, don't laugh at me--too much time on my hands

I have an old bottle and there's only one more application!

If I end up trying the "new" one or whatever it is that's going on and don't like it...I guess I'll move on to KeraCare Humecto Creme or just stick with QH Cholesterol (not comparabe but hey..I'm bracing myself...)

Keep us updated.....

I saw the light colored bottles today in the super size and when I checked the ingredient list, it appeared to be the same as what I know to be the "original formula".

Supergirl...would you mind posting the ingredients of the Moisturefuse formula in question? Thanks alot!

Okay, here it is:

Behentrimonium methosulfate
cetearyl alcohol
diazolidinyl urea
dimethicone copolyolamine
dimethiconol
dimethylpabamidopropyl laurdimonium tosylate
fragrance
glycerin
hydrolyzed wheat protein
iodopropynyl butylcarbamate
polyquaternium-37
PPG-1-trideceeth-6
propylene glycol dicaprylate/dicaprate
stearyl dimethicone
tea-dodecylbenzenesulfonate
water

Thanks....I'm not a chemist or anything but that doesn't even sound as good as the "original formulation".

Geez...I'm getting real depressed over this now!!!! Man, I ddin;t really understand what the L'anza Protein Plus people where feeling before but now I do. Man...this hurts! /images/graemlins/crazy.gif What's wrong with these folks...if it ain't broke, then don't fix it!!!!

So who has used this new formula? Any results to report in comparison to the old one?

I KNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWW (whining) . It doesn't sound as good. It doesn't take a chemist to know that--just being knowledgeable of good ingredients in hair products (as many of us on the board are), we can tell that.

I do believe that this "new" formula is the one that Sassy is referring to that she likes.

They have no email address or phone # on their web site /images/graemlins/frown.gif
I need to get to the bottom of this.

That's exactly why there's no e-mail address. They don't want us acting up like the L'anza consumers ove rin the other thread....bombarding them with phone calls and e-mails.

I don't think they want you to get to the bottom of it.......

Guess I'll be stocking up like everyone else.....(this is bad bcuz I didn't even stock up for Y2K!!)

I'm not trying to be a wise a$$, but did you notice the ingredients were alphabetized??? I know this has nothing to do with the ingredients changing but I hate when companies do that w/ their ingredient listings.

I had an "old" one and it was a 32oz light tan tub and it listed the ingredients aplhabetically.. I hated that. I really thought Acetamide MEA (which is a good moisturizing ingredient) was 1st.. Then i saw one of the smaller bottles and i noticed mineral oil was one of the top ingredients..

All in all to list ingredients in alpha order is misleading!

I didn't even pick up on that. Thanks for pointing that out--so not only did they go and change the formula to a cheaper (my speculation) one(cheap for them), but then they list the ingredients so that you don't know how much of what's in it...... /images/graemlins/hammer.gif
Don't let me find out how to contact them

Yes that is VERY misleading /images/graemlins/mad.gif and I nver noticed that becasue I have the smaller bottle......

GIRL!!!!!!!! What is we gone DO? Do you know of another conditioner with the same quality as the previous Moisturefuse. I have this Design Essentials Moisturizing Conditioner that I just got in the mail (because I'm a PJ, OK)
Here are the ingredients. What do you think:

polyquaternium-32
quaternium 80
dimethicone copolyol isostearate
dimethicone
mineral oil
glycerin
panthenol
silk amino acids
jojoba oil
aloe vera oil
hydrolyzed wheat protein

That sounds good. I used to also like the Keraceare Humecto Creme but not as much as the Moisturefuse. Maybe we'll like the new version.

But if not, it will just be time for me to look for cheaper moisturizing products...becasue I'm not trying to spend a lot of money on higher-end products that may or may not respond well to my hair.... /images/graemlins/ohwell.gif

Damn those people!! I'm ready to give up on Moisturefuse based on principle alone....do they think that they're adjusting the ingredients to the price we pay? I think it was worth the price it was --seeing all those goodies on the ingredient list....but now.... /images/graemlins/naughty.gif

I found one contact:

PRESS CONTACT
PAMELA GILL ALABASTER
212-984-4905

I may call it even though she's the press contact. I got it from the loreal USA home page. It's an article talking about how Loreal USA is now the parent company of Mizani. I wonder if that has anything to do with the change...
