When bunning how do you make a pony tail without a ponytail holder?

I think this may be the reason why it's been so difficult to keep my ends fuller even after trimming 1-3 inches.

I want to get rid of ponytail holders, but what else can be used (besides banana clips) to gather the hair together gently?

I use one of those long elastic hair bands that people wear these days. I cut it and I wrap it around my hair which is gathered into a ponytail. After wrapping it a few times I tie it up once.

I don't feel comfortable using hair ties any more as I feel like it causes breakage when I pull my hair through it.

I also use EZ combs.

Gather hair as if you were going to put it into a pony tail holder, twist the ends till they're all gathered up, then bun up the ends by wrapping it around itself sans the pnytail holder, insert a spin pin or two and you're good to go. It's what I do to secure my hair at night.

I do this too. I do use ponytail holders occasionally, but I only use the seamless ones.

I do what they did in the spin pin tutorial. Gather the hair, give it a twist, then wrap it around itself. Then I twist in one spin pin on the top and one on the bottom of the bun. There are official Goody videos on youtube. Good Luck :yep:

You can definitely try twisting the hair and wrapping it around itself, and using one of those flat hair combs to tuck the ends in. If you want the tucking to be discreet, you can use one of those very small hair combs that are only about an inch long.

I twist my hair like everyone does for the spin pin and add a hair stick. Sometimes I used hair pins or a small hair comb. Every now and then I use a scrunchie. I have spin pins but I really don't use them.

i got satin scrunchies and good day pins. i gather my hair in my hands into a ponytail, twist the length around and pin.

I use the donut form (the one that is covered in hair) pull the hair thru it, spread the hair around the donut form and tuck under around the donut with the end of a rattail comb. I moisturize/seal my ends before tucking. No combs or hair pins needed. I then put a pretty satin scrunchie around it for style.

This is how I do mine when I don't use a ponytail holder (works like a charm).

You have some beautiful ends!

Onhergrind09 I could have sworn I've tried that method before and gave up because my bun was too lose, but I did it today and it worked! Thanks!
